Dehydrated skin

I have dehydrated skin, and suffer from the odd breakout :(. As a result, I am in need of a decent moisturiser which will hydrate but not break me out.

I have tried body shop vitamin e - which was okay, but i am looking for something more hydrating.

I am considering elemis pro collagen marine cream, and will try to get my hands on some samples, based on the positive reviews.

As my skin is dehydrated, I have really prominent lines around my eyes and lips. I am using rosehip oil and was a fan of jojoba oil, but oddly enough, despite being oils, they just donts seem to quench my skins thirst for hydration.

Can anyone - pref through their experience - recomend a good hydrating moisturiser?

Re: Dehydrated skin

Use Oilatum . The Brand is called Stiefel. I think its only available in Pakistan, but it helps !

Re: Dehydrated skin

The best moisturiser I've come across and will never stop using is 'Age Shield Face Sunblock SPF 90' by Neutrogena.

It is oil-free, non-greasy and non-comedogenic so it won't clog pores. The thing is that it's sunblock but w/ anti-aging so it prevents damage and treats it too because of the ingredients in it. And it has the nicest dewy/satin finish ever! It costs around $10-$12 and is available at most stores. Comes in a box and is the best!

......the best jergens moisturiser

Re: Dehydrated skin

I use Nivea creme... it works really well for me. Also keep in mind that dehyderated skin is a sign of overall dehyderation. Make sure you drink lots of water, and have a healthy and balanced diet. That will help greatly!

Re: Dehydrated skin

the ones i would recommend for any skin type: MD Forte glycolic lotion! or glycolic serum from platinumskincare.com!
add salmon, walnuts and almonds (soaked and peeled) to your diet.

If you do use Nivea (which I LOVE WITH A PASSION! I have 3 huge tins!) make sure it's the one made in Germany which is the original formula. The one made in Mexico has mineral oil which can break you out. But Nivea ftw. <3

Re: Dehydrated skin

drink more water. if oils havn't worked so far try Hylauronic acid. Also daycream from xtend-life is very hydrating. with these two products u may not need anything else.

Try biotherm.. it worked really well for a friend's parched skin.

Shukran for the replies. I've been using a helena rubinstein moisturiser (sitting in my drawer) with jojoba oil and my skin condition has improved and does seem more hydrated.

Is MD forte the same as MD Formulations? I used the Continuous Renewal Complex for a good few weeks which contains 14% glycolic acid, but I saw no difference with my skin :(
