^I cried when the Muslim's guys Sweets shop was put on fire - just because of an ignorant who wanted to divide the Hindus and Muslims by saying there was a Mandir there, where the Masjid is now standing!
It was really sad to see people immediately "change" and there was fear. I felt that fear. I felt that backlash. I felt that there will be a riot. I felt all of that because that is reality. We have seen this for real in the past. This is exactly what's happening. I am glad the director had achieved to bring out the true reflection of real life people so smoothly.
I also liked the part where the man was carrying the mirror and showing people their reflection. In the reflection we ONLY see a HUMAN - we DO NOT SEE GOD.
So why there is so much division between religions? WE are ALL humans first. Religion should be respected as an individuals choice.
^ I cried when his grandmother says "ab to yahan marnay ka bhi dil nahin chahta"
I loved how the director incorporated the issues in India like caste system, the brothers living in one house with a brick wall in the middle, the unmarried phupho, the media hype.
Fro reality sake they should have killed abhishek's character- but it's bollywood.
Re: dehli 6
Watched it.. Liked it a lot..!! I expected something else.. but turned out really good.. :)
Re: dehli 6
I think probably people who live there can associate more with it...and probably the people who just think such issues shown in a movie are supposed to be liked...me any my sister laughed through out the movie..didn't like it at all..even though what they showed was true and all but still it was not up to mark..especially the amitab and abhishek scene, its just that all directors have put this in their heads that when they take abhishek in a film they just have to put amitab in it even if its just for a second or two ;S
It truly depends on who you are - a teenager, a kid, adult, old - whatever
I really enjoyed the movie. The kala bandar was THE MAIN thing that REVOLVED the story.
If you did not like kala bandar - it only means you did not understand the director's view point and the message he was trying to give.
I thought the movie was excellent. There is no story - yet - because of the Kala Bandar - everything falls into place and there is a THEME after all to the movie.
I think it's ingeniously made.
i agree!!!
i loved it
Re: dehli 6
that gainda phool is a cool song...i love what abhi does with his hands in the song..luks sooo cool
Re: dehli 6
I loved the movie.....For a change it is not like a regular Bollywood /SRK masala movie (OSO kinds).............My friends either liked or totally disliked the movie...I myself loved it because I could relate to the dilli ki galiya and some situational scenes in it. The first 20 mins of second half was like the plot was being lost with lots of issues being addressed (riots, caste system, kala bandar, bad cop, cheating wife...etc etc) but the director made all the ends meet at end of the movie.....after a long time I can say that my $8 was worth it.....may be after taarey zameen par.........The other thing, I liked about is that all the songs flowed with the story......I guess, ppl did not like the movie expected it to be a regular masala movie but
I agree with NJMasti’s and Rocking vibes reviews on this movie. It was truly an original and unusual (in a good way) movie. Having said that, this is not a movie for the masses – especially those who only want a literal plot and want to stay away from symbolism.
I also liked the movie because I could relate to a lot of things… Hindu Muslim social dynamics in Delhi, the imaginary fears, tattle tales, and make-believe creatures… these things are pretty common in the societal framework portrayed in the movie. During my last visit to Delhi, I actually experienced something very similar to the illusory Kala Bandar shown in the movie.
Two thumbs up from me… but don’t watch it if you’re expecting mindless entertainment.
Re: dehli 6
^ Just curious since I am from Delhi - what made you go to Delhi ?
