Just wanted to see if anyone here has had their non-USA degrees evaluated and if so is there any particular service that you would recommend over the others? Do they generally have the same criteria for evaluation or can results vary depending upon where your degrees are evaluated?
Amongst all the naces members, most people I have spoken to have sent their degrees to WES. But their guidelines have changed over the past few years and they require the applicant to send their degrees to HEC, Pakistan from where the degrees are attested and then forwarded to WES. It seems like too lengthy a process.
Has anyone used this method or any other evaluation svc? any recommendations?
You should send your transcript to the university you are applying to. It depends on subjects & relevant topics that you have taken in the past in relevance to the degree you are pursuing. For example your might have a degree in Islamiyat from Islamia college Pindi which may not apply to the business degree you intend to do. :-)
I guess it depends on why you are getting your degrees evaluated. Some times the organization specifies which evaluators can be used. By the way, I have used Silny (above) and they are good. They are familiar with Pakistani qualifications and their evaluation was perfect. Their turn around time was great and fees were pretty consistent with others. They were also pre-approved for the purpose.
Not all evaluators are the same, though. I had used another one earlier and they were kinda clueless about Pakistani system and did not provide enough credits for some parts of academic degrees.
