Degree/Certificates of Pakistan

:salam2:

Why degree/certifiate of Pakistan is not recogniseable in many other countries. Why its need re-verification from many departments before its acceptance? Other than Pakistan’s degree/certificate is acceptable without any verification/attestation.

I’m talking about like A+ College/Uni degrees where not on local students but foreigners also take admission and every year Govt of Pakistan reserved those seats for foreign candidates.

Re: Degree/Certificates of Pakistan

Maye be because the education system in Pakistan is different compared to other countries?

Re: Degree/Certificates of Pakistan

I didn't get you, you means syllabus (books)?

Re: Degree/Certificates of Pakistan

I agree with Lippy. The system is different, just like IGSCE is different than Indian system etc. People who do MBBS from Pakistan, have to give exams here and pass, in order to practice medicine in UAE. Also if you go to Canada etc, you have to do the same. Also, Pakistan before used to have a BA/BBA of 2 years. That's unacceptable as world standard is 3/4 years. Depends if you have done A levels or not. So, if you have such a degree, it won't be recognised outside in the world, for example.

Re: Degree/Certificates of Pakistan

Books, teaching, exams everything is different. Here, they teach you advance stuff, general knowledge based ideas whereas people in Pakistan go through the same old notes and same text books. For example, this year London Olympics has been on hit list.Almost, they used it in each subject, Is Olympics good for the economy? Are athletics our hero, do they inspire us to keep us fit etc. In schools , we have 11 years to study. In Pakistan, a degree is awarded after 16 years of study but here it is 18 or more. We have A levels system here but there it is different. If you have done Metric from Pakistan, here they 'll make you sit O levels exam first then proceed to A levels. We don't have extra help, tutions, or academies here. It is all about self studying and it is 75% self study and 25% work is done by the teachers. And, we get more holidays here Christmas,Easter break, half term, mid term, full term etc. On serious note, you DO NOT pay bribe to get marks and No cheating.

Yes, it is same here for the doctors. They have to pass IELTS with 7.5 grade, pass the Plab exams. Once they pass this, they are eligible to work at the hospital.

Re: Degree/Certificates of Pakistan

I have done my higher education in Engineering from one of the best uni's in uk, yet i hve to get my degree certified by PEC (Pakistan Engineering Council) before commencing the work, same the case when i got the job in Saudi, i need to certified them by SEC (saudi Engineering Council).

Re: Degree/Certificates of Pakistan

I agree with you now the BA even Bcom which is acceptable of for 4 four years. Now here AIOU offer Bcom course for two years whereas the local Ministry accept only Bcom for four years. I wonder why the Institutue didn't approached AIOU in Islamabad or Ministry of Education in Islamabad to raise this issue. I mean its waste of time and money for those student who have taken admission or passed the Bcom as it won't going to be acceptable anyway.

Still the Federal Board Schools in abroad using the same old syllabus whereas the local schools of Govt starts teaching Computer (Operating plateform) in 3rd class and basic information about Cells division in human body in 5th grade. Every year the Govt announce that this and that much budget was reserved for Education but nothing changed nor improved.

You must share info about attestion in another thread in the same forum as many ask about it :)

Re: Degree/Certificates of Pakistan

Which uni ? And why you had to get it certified from Pakistan?

What to say. Education is must,it helps to get a civilized society. :k:

Re: Degree/Certificates of Pakistan

When i got enrolled for Bsc Engineering, it was known as UMIST (University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology), but when I finished my PHD it became THE UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER (in 2011, ranked 28th in the world, 7th in Europe and 5th in uk). And you need the PEC certification because without that no one will hire you as a professional engineer.

Re: Degree/Certificates of Pakistan

Got it.My uni has been ranked 25[SUP]th[/SUP] out of 116 UK higher education institutions this year. Amazed, Manchester didn't had higher rank than Aston in UK?

Re: Degree/Certificates of Pakistan

Lippy is bookworm  I didn’t know that :hoonh:

Re: Degree/Certificates of Pakistan

^ I wasn’t but i had too. And my subject is related to do more practical work not studying loads and loads of books. I hate reading. :bummer:

Re: Degree/Certificates of Pakistan

I think more practical works than studies let student thinks how they can improve it. This automatically leads them to search and study mean reading by their own different books related to that practical.

Re: Degree/Certificates of Pakistan
