What is defination of noor ? according to Sunni bros. If i say Prophet s.a.w is noor what does that actually mean. If i say Jibreal a.s is Noor does that mean he cannot make a mistake ? If we (all muslims) agree on some one… Either Prophet s.a.w or an Angel that he is noor how wud it sperate him from other bashars like us ?
Please try to keep your answer brief and dont copy paste the huge posts from other sites that you havent read your self.
Thank you
Dear aqeel, noor is simply light. Light is either, actual ie a form of energy that is released when atoms are boken by way of chain reaction as in atomic reactosrs or it is matter another form of energy- or it is light of knowledge that fills one's mind with good feelings and raise one in level of ecstasy if you like.
Good people are noor of both kinds ie they are made of energy and have the knowledge that makes them great and they also try to bring that to others. And the prophet was the best possible.
Regardless it will help if you could explain further what do you want to express or explain.
As for prophets making odd mistakes, it is possoble but there is nothing wrong with that. The quran points out our prophet's mistake regarding release of some captives. A prophet is free of all sins.

regards and all the best.
Well i have a point, but its pointless if i beleive that Prophets can be wrong so u have to emphasize on what u mean by odd mistakes. Tark-e-OOLA ?
From My Understanding is Tark-e-Oola is not dis-obeying. Its something u were expected to do even though there was not CLEAR order for it.
Can u please give me examples of odd mistakes we r talking about here. I am sure they will be from Quran and please mention Surah and Ayat with ur examples.
** 020.115 * YUSUFALI: We had already, beforehand, taken the covenant of Adam, but he forgot: and We found on his part no firm resolve.
*
020.121 * YUSUFALI: In the result, they both ate of the tree, and so their nakedness appeared to them: they began to sew together, for their covering, leaves from the Garden: thus did Adam disobey his Lord, and allow himself to be seduced.
008.068 * YUSUFALI: Had it not been for a previous ordainment from Allah, a severe penalty would have reached you for the (ransom) that ye took.
068.048 * YUSUFALI: So wait with patience for the Command of thy Lord, and be not like the Companion of the Fish,- when he cried out in agony.
28.015 * **YUSUFALI:* And he entered the city at a time when its people were not watching: and he found there two men fighting,- one of his own religion, and the other, of his foes. Now the man of his own religion appealed to him against his foe, and Moses struck him with his fist and made an end of him. He said: "This is a work of Evil (Satan): for he is an enemy that manifestly misleads!"
The prophets are masoom anil maasiyia=sin but not masoom anil khataa= human error.
Sin is deliberately doing wrong thing. Khata is doing something but without intension of doing wrong. It results out of human error or out of not knowing better.
I feel the topic that you are going to start regarding the position of 'aqeedah regarding the ability to do "wrong" for those of the anbiyah is different from the topic even though I do have a position on that topic.
Noor is a term which in essence is both the effect of light and light itself in it's physical and metaphorical meanings.
To have noor means that you can guide and it means that you are guided, light from a lamp guides us when we walk in darkness and we can guide others if we hold the lamp. If we are guided, light will shine from us which guides others.
Noor is a single term that means all of these things together.
Think of a material that is sensitive to ultraviolet light and this form of light shines in a given environment. Although the light itself appears invisible to our eyes we can still find our way by using this material, because what happens is that it converts the UV light to blue light and then we can all see with the blue light. The material will seem to be the source of light to us, but in reality the source of light is predominant in the environment we are simply not sensitive to it. The material effectively becomes the light, but it itself needs to be senstive to the UV light. That material is noor - something which is senstive to the light of divine guidance and provides light for us to see.
Noor of created entities is not the same as the "analogy" that Allah (SWT) uses for Himself, i.e. Light Upon Light. Whether this is or is not an analogy is debated.
Jibreel (AS) is Ar-Ruh, which means The Spirit.
It takes a bit of practice to work out that in Arabic when something is said to be something then is it being referred to as a "state" or in "substance".
A lamp is only a light when its "state" is "on", but the "substance" of the lamp is something other than light. Alternatively photons are the "substance" of physical light and have varying "states".
It is considered in Maturidi aqeedah that neither state nor substance apply to Allah (SWT).
[5:110] When Allah will say: O Isa son of Marium! Remember My favor on you and on your mother, when I strengthened you with the holy Spirit, you spoke to the people in the cradle and I when of old age, and when I taught you the Book and the wisdom and the Taurat and the Injeel; and when you determined out of clay a thing like the form of a bird by My permission, then you breathed into it and it became a bird by My permission, and you healed the blind and the leprous by My permission; and when you brought forth the dead by My permission; and when I withheld the the children of Israel from you when you came to them with clear arguments, but those who disbelieved among them said: This is nothing but clear enchantment.
Quddus comes from quds, which would be the word paak in Urdu. This is where the concept of ismah comes..
The spirit is breathed into he who Allah (swt) chooses which enables them to have or show such miracles as the prophets did. Rooh al-Quddus entered Isa (as) which allowed him to speak from the cradle.
Dude, what is a psyah? Everytime I read your posts, I read it ps. YAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
