So - just around the time when nation was in the grip of “Defence Day” fervor, Americans land their special forces right in the midst of a militarily hodbed region of Pakistan, go around spray bullets like wild cowboys, and fly back safely to wherever they came from.
Where was Pak army all that time - supposedly the defenders of the nation? there’s a presence of over 100K Pak army personnel in that region, active in war like situation with full logistics & operational support. PAF has been operating from its forward air bases in that region, still US forces were able to sneak in, do whatever they wanted to and get out, leaving army top brass to empty chest thumping and bravados of “not allowing anyone to disregard the country’s territorial integrity” and vowing to protect “country’s sovereignty”
What is our so called Defenders’ concept of defending the country’s integrity & sovereignty? I hope its something better than beating the halpless farmers of OKara farms or turning vast chunks of land into housing schemes or building golf courses.
And I certainly hope their idea of defending the homeland is not based on giving away plots in prime areas to military officers at throw away prices - and assigning them the responsibility of personally “defending” that piece of land.
