p.s.2 I went to school in Major Shabir Sharif's town. Our high school was right beside his old house. They didn't live there anymore.

Yeah, I read up on it to refresh my memory. They launched a big attack on September 6th that Pakistan had to defend against, hence the name.

One of my friend posts on facebook today that PNS attack was possible with the help
of a mullah in army. I think problem is that we don’t even want to trust our
army, for example he shares this post with us on 6 sep. Look at India where hundreds
of cases are filed against Indian army but no Indian speaks against their own
army. Look at America, how many illegal invasions they made, but Americans in
general don’t even criticize their army or govt on these issues. We are turning
ourselves into traitor. So, what is surprise if few are in our army.

A little off topic, but I want to know from AP uncle that can we consider this report of Roznama Jang reliable, considering the subsequent reporting uptil 1971, when we lost East Pakistan? I mean to say whether local newspapers were free to report anything against the military governments then?

Indians also had to face separatist movements in different parts of their country but they never used gunship helicopters, they never trained monsters in their country (taleban), they never allowed drones to attack their people or carry out operations on the behest of foreign powers (for dollars), they never act as mercenaries of foreigners.

First reason was that our army misjudged Indian army . They thought that it will be Like Indo-China war of 1962 , They also miscalculated result of War of Run Kuchh . They started a very foolish operation Gebraltor and its failure forced them to start a limited army action in Chhamb -Jurian , Akhnoor sectors so India retaliated with an attack at Lahore which became total war at west Pakistan Borders. CIA perhaps also misguided the both countries .
It was a great story of braveness of our lower ranks but a total failure of the command . It was the time when EP realized that Pakistan left them alone . Do you know that there wae a total number of 12000 soldiers in EP that time . It was China which threatened India to not to attack on EP .

if we people of Pakistan are not comfort with army, why we have been electing such politicians who are comfort with army. Zardari is wise enough to deal with such evils. why zardari cant fire kayani or setup a new army structure? just because he has nothing good to do.
If we people of Pakistan don’t agitate against military rule or monopoly, we endorse military rule. Responsible are you, the people of Pakistan.

While its important that we keep remembering 1965, but this year was followed by 1971, loss of siachin in 1980s, kargil debacle in the 1990s and here we are in the 21st century with half the country in civil war and all due to the failed policies of two generals. One general trained religious extremists and another took an abrupt u-turn (without taking into account the repurcussions) the motivation was the same in both cases (US dollars). Even this balochistan issue that we are grappling with for the past eight years is a gift of another general. Who should we go to ask for justice?

Ayub Khan started a proxy war by infiltrating so called mujahiden fighting with Indian army long before 65 war. These mujahiden almost reached Sirinagar to capture from Indian Army. Lal Bahadur Shastri, the then Indian PM was very shrewd and thought that India was going to lose Kashmir. He started full war with Pakistan which forced army under the guise of Mujahidin to defend Lahore and other areas. That was how full war started on September 6, 1965.
