As far back as the invention of Photo Camera & Photography, one can recall their vivid or not so vivid
memories in images that were taken on the spur of moment in time !

Mecca city with its Holy Kaba in the middle of the valley which is surrounded by steep hills and rocky mountains sits dangerously in low laying areas.

Even in these Modern Times Mecca valley gets devastated by Flash Floods due to seasonal heavy down pour. When it rains it pours as much as 2-4 inches in just few hours at times.

Due to some divine reason or so ‘Kaba’ sits right in the middle of the sloppy valley and you can only
compare a ‘Rice Bowl’ to its shape and contours.

Heavy land erosion from the surrounding hills and mountains was eating away land and soil at a very fast and alarming rate

Today this sacred city is saved by following;

1 - High tech flood water and city sewage system to ensure large volume of water evacuation
2 - Grand Mosque and the Holy Kaba is now surrounded by invisible embedded wall to check any erosion under land.
3 - City it self now has a well kept Museum , and you know what it might have inside,
4 - Well maintained and fully stocked Library cum museum aka “Prophet Mohammad PBUH” house
5 - City has one of the best and practical tunnel and road work system to handle humongous volume of people at any given day.

And there are several hundred more innovations conceived for the city due to its historical setting and natural disasters,

Some more oldies for Mecca & Kaba, shows how vulnerable this valley is to the regular Flash Floods in the rainy seasons, (These Pictures and several fold more are available in the Museum across ‘Bab-e-Islam’
the Birth Place of Prophet Mohammad PBUH.
