Deep-set eyes

So how many of you ladies have deep-set eyes…where the crease/socket is prominent? How do you guys do your shading…as in do you avoid putting darker shadows (like brown and black) in the outer corner of your eye …so that you don’t make the crease stand out even more and thus cause your eye to recede further? Or just use one color on your lid?

Re: Deep-set eyes

Light colors will help enhance them and bring them forward. Avoid the use of dark colors and liners as they tend to make small eyes look smaller. Peaches, , taupe, grey, light browns and beiges are perfect for deep set eyes; use a medium shade on your entire eyelid and blend a lighter shade under the brow. Use a lash curler and two coats of a dark brown/black mascara and you're good to go!

Re: Deep-set eyes

The lighter shade under the brow would be the highlighter then, right? So, you're basically saying to blend the medium shade with the highlighter? So...no darker shades in the V-corner/crease area to create that depth?

Re: Deep-set eyes

omg deep set eyes are too preety .... seriiously ANY kind of eye make up looks great with deep set eyes .. eye shadow is preety much designed for ppl tht have non deep set eyes (like meee) so you can do whateverrr you wish with make up

Wow. When it's your turn to seek advice....

Why did I even bother. Thank you to those who posted.

Re: Deep-set eyes

hey rv.

i have round eyes with a deep set crease. i always do fluidline liner with a small flick/wing which makes them look less round. generally i will just do some very subtle darkening (using mid range shades) in the outer V using the end of the liner as a guide. if i’m going to do something all the way along the crease, i will keep the lid lighter and i’ve found for me, this only looks good when i use false lashes. i can’t really use a mid/dark colour for the lid and darker for the crease because then i look tired. if i’m going to use something mid-darker on the lid, then no crease darkening and just blended highlighting to the brow.

my problem is that my lid/browbone area are about the same, so i can’t darken above the crease because there is not enough space.
here is an example if you have space: http://fashionbombdaily.com/2010/05/14/eye-makeup-looks-deep-set-eyes/ first pic.

for me, really i look best when i do my eyes like pic 3 (minus the lashes) or 5.

so i think it depends on more than just having a pronounced crease.

Re: Deep-set eyes

^Thank Stoppit. That was helpful and I appreciate it. I personally think that my crease is pronounced so I try to put the darker shadow a little bit above the crease..at the base of the browbone (as I had seen in some youtube videos)...but then I get this darker line above my crease. Perhaps I'm going way above my crease...or maybe I just need to do a better job of blending.

Re: Deep-set eyes

RV, can you post a picture of eyes that look similar to yours? i'll get a better idea of what you're talking about then.

Re: Deep-set eyes

Okay like Rani Mukherjee has deep set eyes.....she has a defined crease. So does Freida Pinto...except you don't see much eyelid with her. With me...the crease is defined...but the eyelid is pretty visible as well.

Re: Deep-set eyes

I think what I use to bring my eyes forward are lighter colors with dark but not so dark on the outside.

It sounds pretty much like the normal eye but I don't use any black. I rarely do smokey eyes. I typically start the darker shading as far out as I possibly can. I usually stick to brownish liners...rarely use bold black liner or even liquid liner.

Re: Deep-set eyes

Im not sure if this is helpful or not but someone on here posted a video by a guy who talked about what to do with different types of eyes. I can't remember the link though! Sorry!
