Deep Fried Deliciousness

These days anything we can think of is thrown into the besan batter and deep-fried for iftar. Potatoes are the least of it. There’s zuchini, eggplant, shrimp, boneless chicken and… today’s special…

muenster cheese!

YUM.

Any other ideas?

Wow, really ? Never thought that one could put cheese in there !
Doesnt it melt ?

^ That's what makes it so good.

Have you ever had deep fried chocolate?

Fish, I had fish pakorays.

You can also deep fry ghoobi, mushrooms, palak, I simply love potatoe's.

Oh yes! I've had fish and gobi as well. Never tried the mushrooms. Yum.

Mehnaz -- No! For iftar?

Sahar, I agree with you. The other day I placed a delivery order at an Italian restaurant, and they mixed it up, but anyways, I ended up with this item that was mozzarella cheese sanwiched up in a slice of bread, deep fried and then smothered in some delicious marinara sauce - yummy!!! Normally I avoid stuff that screams cholesterol, but at iftar time, I don't think much, just eat :D

Mehnaz - I've never had fried chocolate before, but I did try some fried ice-cream at a Japanese restaurant. Came flaming on a plate, it was really good!!

I've never had deep fried chocolate either. I've seen it though and it looks delicious.

Mozzerella cheesestix are my favorite. I buy frozen and bake 'em minutes before eating with chai.

Pakoray made with gobhi and eggplant are yummy. I don't like aaloo pakorray too much. I once tried making onion rings at home and they turned out pretty good too. My only problem was that the batter won't stick for long.

Deep fried chocolate bars are quite 'traditional' up in scotland.......usually its mars bars that are dipped in batter and then fried.

With all those foods makes me think Iv died and gone to heaven.esp chocolate.

so does the chocolate get dipped in a spicy besan mix? :-o

mmmm melted cheese.

i just can’t stop thinking about it. mozzarella sticks have always been my favorite. people don’t even ask me what i want as an appetizer anymore. who knew it was so easy to make something similar at home!

fg: a real mozzarella lover doesn’t go for the frozen stuff :snooty:

It's not a spicy batter, just the usual chip shop batter that they use for the fish too.

God, reading this thread just clogged up my arteries!

boiled eggs, left over koftas, even small slices of bread and paneer pakoras..also chilly ones.

what about haloumi? :yummy:

^ what's that?
