Deep Cleansing

Hi Girls,

Can any one tell me which products are used for deep cleansing & how are they used ? I’m asking for doing it at home.

This is how I do mine:

Slightly wet your face and rub a scrub on it. (any scrub of your choice, I just use the St.Ives apricot one) for like 2-3 mins or so

Next steam your face. They say you should do it for max 10 mins otherwise it supposedly opens up your pores too much. I do mine for atleast 15. (I live in an extremely cold weather n my skin is normal to dry so it def takes a longer time for the steam to work its magic..) See what suits your skin. But steam it for atleast 10 mins

Next I just use an olive oil/sugar mix. Rub this onto your face in various circular motions for 5 mins or so. Since you already had some scrub on your face, the soap part will easily wash off the olive oil part in the sugar scrub. If you have a black head extractor, you could use that too.

Next, just wash your face with lukewarm water to wash off all remnants of the scrubs. Now apply any facial mask of your choice. I use this clay mask from Caryl Baker. Works for me. Leave it on for a few. After it's dried up, wash your face thoroughly. I touch up with quite a few splashes of icy cold tap water too to (supposedly close-off my pores)

Next, dab some toner on your cotton pad and run it on your face in an UPWARD direction.

Next, put on your fave moisturizer to give ur skin the rosy glow! (I use the pore minimizer from Caryl Baker)

Bhenjee u're scrubbing too much! Once with st ives and then u're olive oil and sugar mixture..

Buy urself a deep cleanser, Neutrogena has a nice one.. steam u're face for 10 mins and apply this mask.. after u've removed it with lukewarm water.. apply a cleansing cream (mix it with rosewater to massaging is easier) massage it till all of it is absorbed by u're skin.

Use damp cotton wool to wipe it off.. follow-up with u're toner and moisturiser.

BTW, was it for me or bhenjee.If it is for me then kindly tell me which cleansing cream ,toner and moisturizer will suit a dry skin.

Is the Neutrogena deep cleanser easily available in Pakistan.

It was actually for both..scrubbing often strips u're skin of natural oils.. which causes premature wrinkles. Scrub only 2-3 times a week. I like the neutrogena deep cleanser I use it 2 times a week.

All salons carry different brands and hence use different products. But the process is somewhat similar. You shouldn't worry about what brands they're using. Get the ones most suitable to your skin type and get on this boat asap. In time you will feel IA like your skin's being salon treated.. :)
