wedding khoya mean jab mahndi say some days earlier gandh ki rasm hoti hai. thou khoya groom family ko datay hai. mostly send packed khoya from sweet shop. some like us make its own and send on big taal. but i hv heard also do some decoration like braid or something??? so guys tell me some ideas soon plzzzzzzz
and yah Mods its has linked to food decoraton so post here. but if u think that it should in wedding thread so u move it. thanx
recently I saw someone do this : they folded their napkin in a flower fold ... and had the khoya in the middle ... the color combinations were different .. pink khoya with yello napkins ...
yello khoya with blue napkins and white khoya with red napkins ..
i thought they looked nice and extremely presentable ..
I just thought up of another presentation tip .. long time back i bought some khoya and broke them into small pieces then rolled it out thinly and using a cookie cutter , cut out various shapes .. at that time I used it to decorate a halwa i had made .. but you can actually sprinkle some colored food sparkle on the cut shapes .. and offer then in cookie covers ...
well CB ur ideas r great. our koya would be white.
i thought first place aluminuim foil in taal. then butter paper and koya on it. and wrap it with freshwrap. in laws diide it their self. but for make it colourful wt do i do? i hv heard u also make a date like 15. but with whom?
Amaya , the foil thing looks pretty ordinary when it comes to presentation ... I have seen that before in a thaal ..
Why dont you try this with a single piece of khoya first , just to see if you like it or not , break it into pieces .. then if you have food color , ( gel colors ) mix some in the khoya and start mixing it with your fingers .. when it takes on the color .. flatten it into a smooth flat shape and use a cookie cutter to cut it out ...
Try doing this on a clean shopping bag ... so that when you try to pick the khoya up after shaping it , it doesnt break ...
you can do one more thing ...
color khoya in three different colors , say for example , yellow, orange and green
Then make really small balls of the khoya .. then place one piece of each color in a cupcake case ...
Why dont you try to get the colored food sparkle from the cake decoration shops and sprinkle some of it on shaped white khoya .. that would look good too ..
Stuff like this is not common in my family. But I have seen this happening. The khoya is distributed and is called 'gand ki rasam'.
Just a few weeks ago my parents received some khoya from one of their close friends as a wedding date had been fixed. They had placed the commercially packed khoya on small disposable transparent cups (used them upside down) ,placed a fancy note on teh cup stating the names of the to-be bride and groom and the wedding dates, wrapped the whole thing in golden net fabric, and placed a golden ribbon with frills on it.Looked nice..>:)
