December Islamabad Wedding 2014

Hi Guys,

This is the first time I actually am posting on the forum, I have been rather a researcher and reader at the forum! I would firstly like to thank everyone! It has been extremely helpful!

Now my wedding dates have been set for December 2014 and I am not even in Pakistan which makes everything seem more difficult to plan and manage. It is actually quite difficult to get quotes via email, most of the time, they dont even pick up their phones making it more difficult! Since December is a wedding season I have been told to book everything in advance or I wouldnt find alot of options for Venue, Photographer etc.

At this moment time I would love recommendations from your side regarding venues, photographers, makeup artists, bridal dresses and so on.

Also as I would receive quotes I would most definitely let you guys know the updated charges so it might be helpful who is in need!

Re: December Islamabad Wedding 2014

Hi there :) first of all Congrats! My wedding is also in Pakistan in a couple of weeks and initially I was feeling quite panicky at the thought of having to plan it from here but do you know what? I actually haven't done a thing. My in laws have been fantastic in organizing everything from A to Z and I am pretty much just turning up! On that note, I would suggest that you utilise the help of any relatives or your in laws in Pakistan as people over there have everything covered a lot better than we can sitting abroad. While I am not from ISB, I can give you the following recommendations and suggestions to follow up on:

Bridal dresses- my mehndi and reception dresses are from HSY. My in laws went to all of the high end designers in ISB and showed me pics from each place but I fell in love with the HSY dresses as did they. If this is in your budget, I would suggest taking a look. However, I am not sure if you can view his designs online. (My in laws were not allowed to take a pic of my dresses UNTIL they paid the deposit so it was lucky I liked the dresses!).

Venues- Serena Hotel ISB comes to mind but do your research.

MUA- Athar Shahzad...although I'm not sure if he is in ISB. The MUA I had for my nikkah recommended him as she travelled to pak to be trained by him and my nikkah makeup was amazing.

Re: December Islamabad Wedding 2014

for venues check out avalon marquee, paradise complex, embassy lodge..there are loads of hotels next to embassy lodge..cant remember the name..started with m but ws really good. blue lagoon in pindi is good too.

mua:- daniella and sobia are really good. sobias in pindi and isl. moshaz in pindi and is also good

for clothes.if u dont want designer stuff but good quality..go to murree road in pindi. check out fashion ka ghar and mohsins..huge variety

Re: December Islamabad Wedding 2014

I got married one year ago in Isb/pindi area & here are my recommandations:

Timing: For prep planning, you need at least two months to organize A to Z with help of your relatives of course. And more time if you got married in a rush period as mine (in nov) when most of the wedding are organized. This is also the minimum that you need for your bridal dress (& more if you go for designer dress 4-6 months)

Venue: There is a large choice, but depending on your budget
High standard: Serena, Marriotts, PC
Mid range: Paradise complex (was mine, great experience), Blue lagoon,
Average: Maryam Banquet Hall, Siddique Banquet Hall ....

Shopping point: Jinnah super (ISB), Centaurus Mall (ISB), Channi Chowk (RWP), Sadar (RWP), Commercial Market (RWP)...

MU saloon: Allenora & Sobia (no doubt they do a great job!) Jugnu
Daniella was also in my check list but when i visited her, i did not have a good feeling

Best of luck !

Hello mzprincess88,

I am Inshallah getting married in December and my Walima is going to be in Islamabad. I am wearing a pishwas designed by Dr Haroon. I wanted to ask you if you could please give me the contact information of the MUA that did your make up at your ISL event.

Thank you!

Re: December Islamabad Wedding 2014

December is actually wedding season, so it is a good idea to book everything in advance. I can help you out with bridal and formal clothes. Check this page out, although not entire collection is at display yet you can get an idea. It is very affordable and you can even get high quality replicas made.

Re: December Islamabad Wedding 2014

Hi i am new to this forum and joined only because i seek advice for my bridal jora. i am worried for my all wedding preparations bridal dress, shoes, makeup etc please tell me shall i get this everything ready made in rawalpindi? i will come pakistan for my wedding only but for 02 weeks and i am having nightmares as there is no prep at all. someone told me to visit karachi for all shopping but my wedding is in rawalpindi.

High standard: Serena, Marriotts, PC

Re: December Islamabad Wedding 2014

girls also please tell me the recent makeup artist rates like

Allenora
Jugnu
Sobia's

shall i book them in advance?

Re: December Islamabad Wedding 2014

unknownxistenz congrats for your wedding in advance. the data you gathered i will appreciate if you could share it with me as well. my wedding is planned in Oct, 2014 inshaAllah.

Re: December Islamabad Wedding 2014

thank you for your best wishes. In fact yes the quality of food was great !
Everybody appreciate the food, and my parents was so relieved that all the organization thing during the ceremony 'including food' goes well !

Re: December Islamabad Wedding 2014

@zbaby Rates of Allenora was in Nov 2012
Signature Make-up rate: 28 K (was my choice)
Standard rate: 18 K

Sobia's:
Signature MaKe-up: 25 k
Standard rate: 15 k

It's not necessary to book in too advance, 2 weeks could be enough.
It depend if you want to take their bridal package for (skin treament, massage, manucure, pedicure etc..), you should then start earlier
