Hello Guys,

My sister’s wedding is happening in Karachi in December 2012 and we need help in finding the prices of good venues. Our budget is around 6 lakh with everything included, meaning venue, food, and decoration for 200 people at the most. Is it possible to book a nice venue such as PC, for this price or would I need to raise my budget? Also, any suggestions of wedding venues with prices for 200 people (all inclusive) would be very much appreciated. I truly appreciate your time thanks once again!

Hi based on my research its way much better to have a catering done in any play ground in Karachi through Larosh catering it will be lavish less expensive and you will be able to accomodate more then 200 guests in same budget. Dont go for PC because they wont allow to have food cater from outside and trust me thr food sucks. I hope this helps you out as I am planning to do same for mine.

Thanks khanb5 for your reply. Just wondering did you have a personal experience at PC that makes you dislike it? Also, what alternative venue would you suggest that is still lavish?

yeh I do have personal experience with PC during my sister's wedding. It was lavish no doubt but remember our ppl focus on quality of food and service not on how lavish it is. You can still have lavish wedding actualy even better arangments then compare to PC if you book lawn near water front in marina club and have decoration done from La rosh and for food...I would suggest you to reconfirm with your parents and asked them if they remember old days because in old days ppl used to hire Pakwan centre located at Aslam Road, Karachi they are the real professional ppl who knows how to deliver the best taste on earth and they are not expensive at all. Also you can save alot on food if you go for best taste vs having many dishes just for the sake of show off. this is what I have planned for my wedding which is also planned March 2013....

Mehndi @ Marina Club....Decorations with Larosh catering....Food Bundu Khan Kabab...Menu...Bihari boti, chicken tikka, seekh kabab, mutton chops, parhata, sallad and lab e shireen. Musical Show for whole night too. 500 ppl costing me arround 5 lakh not including musical show.

Ruksati @ Imperial they have their own decorations too....Food from pakwan centre in aslam road...Menu...Chicken Biryani...Chicken Karahi....Chicken Sajji and Fish along with falooda and fruit custord...500 ppl costing me arround 5.5 lakh.

Walima venu not decided yet but that wont exceed 5 lakh too. Decorations will be from Larosh...menu will be Delhi ki mutton biryani,,,mutton Korma,,,steame broast...gajjar ka halwa and ice creame...(This is a same menu which my father had on his walima :P) turst me ppl will loveeeeeeeeee it as these days there is quantity out there but not the same taste thrfore thy will appreicate if you follow the same old trend. I HOPE THIS HELPS AND SORRY FOR SUCH A LENGHTY ONE.

I think my family is leaning towards sadabahar now for the venue and their website looks great with the potential decorations also asked my dad about the food and he agrees the pawan people are really good! As far as photography and videography I can only seem to find people that want to charge at least 1 lakh for 4 days is this reasonable or no? I am looking at this place called Artistic Studio. I really do appreciate the detailed replies its helping me a lot thanks!!

yeh sadabahar is also one of the good choice. Please let me know how much is it costing including venue and decorations. As for video and photography I will suggest go for OK productions they have some good packages and thr quality is good too you can find them on facebook or just simply check thr work on youtube. I think 1 lakh is very reasonable for 4 days but it has to be for both video and photo together.

Okay I have been calling around for some prices, and I am having trouble finding a venue that is not TOO big. Seems like there is no where for just around 200 people at a reasonable price. Sadabahar said it would charge 6.5 lakh w/o food costs b/c it is for 700 people regardless of how many you have. Sheraton/PC said it would cost 1.5 lakh plus 1500 rupees per head for the food (which I find outrageous for 4 meals).

The best thing I found was Arcopolis who were reasonable to quote me around 600 per head for food which included a lot of food such as seekh kabab, millai chicken boti, tandoori chicken, chicken biryani, three desserts, chai, and tandoori roti, and other stuff I can't recall.

Also, I am trying to look at Palm Garden do you know if they will accommodate 200 people or is it too big for that? Same question for Jade Hall and Imperial.

I don't mind the cost of PC and Sheraton but the cost of food and decorations just kills the deal, so any help would be appreciated, sorry for pestering everyone :P

afzal3 if you are calling them and letting them know that you are calling from Canada then they will double the price so therfore let someone in Pakistan to get info for you. Secondly I will also suggest to go for halls in North Nazimabad or Gulshan area thr are alot of them and they have decent decorations too. OR the other option is find a play ground and have decorations done by Larosh or Hanif Rajput and food from Pakwan centre. Imperial is also a good choice but if it just 200 ppl i will suggest play ground or halls in North Nazimabad.

Thanks for the advice khanb5, I will try to get one of my mamoos to go and look at these venues. Also, do you know if you have to be a member of Defence Golf/Marina Club to have a wedding there, and is it awkward hosting an event there without being a member?

So you don't think it would be a bad thing if I got like say an "okay hall" and then decorated it really nice whereas doing the opposite and having a "prestigious" hall which is decently decorated.

I will be making some more calls tonight at like 3AM here in the USA so that it is day in Karachi :P I will let you guys know how it goes!

yeh afzal3 I thing it would be perfect to just get one of those regular halls and have extra decorations done seprately. That is even better because you cab be more creative according to your budget. Yeh please share with us how thing goes. Also you dont need to be memeber for DHA Golf club and/or Marina Club infact they earn most of the revunue from the events by non-members.

I just want to let you know that you may visit zoreed raza lacelebrators facebook or www shaadiarrangements.com.pk site both the sites belong to one person and we had a wonderful experience by this wedding planner.She will be able to give you advices plus she will be able to plan it iwthin your budget.I have heard that she has her own venues now.

Hey Sonali_2009 thanks for your advice I contacted Ms. Raza and she seems great. She suggested Maritime Museum as the venue in Karachi and I was wondering if you or anyone else had the number for them as I cannot seem to contact them for a cost of the venue. Also, sonali could you send me some pics of your wedding just to see how it went if you don't mind :P

Please try The Court and also Majestic lawns (both on main sh-e-faisal), they are both reasonably priced and have had great experience at both places.

hey afzal,
last year we booked hall for my sister wedding in defence sunset club
it cost 60000 rs. there are 4 lawn erum,entertainment 1 and 2...

n for my czn wedding they booked ORCHID lawn near gym khana for MAY....it cost 15000 for hall rent , and 15000 for stage decoration excluding decoration n catering...

Will sure send you the pics of my brother wedding and I know this meritime musium as comes on my way to home.The place belongs to Naval authority and considered very secured place.The rent I can find out for you.Why dont you ask wedding planner ms.zoreed raza the details.If she is recommanding she must have the details and the numbers.The both loans are good but they will cost you fortune as it is feasable for more than 500 pple.In my personal opinion you have less number of people so go to a place where you can do things the way you want.These places have a monaply of thier own and they dont allow any decore,food or floral work from outside.

So do you think the Sunset club was a good a fit gheli? Were you allowed to do the decorations/catering the way you wanted, and how did everything go?

So you are suggesting that the Maritime would be better since I don't have 500 people at the minimum and would be paying for unused space basically. I did talk to Ms. Raza and just wanted to get the information on my own as well to see if there was a discrepancy in the prices quoted :p. I would be delighted if you could get the information for me Sonali that would help a ton! Also I will PM you my e-mail address if you can send me the pics of the wedding thanks once again!!
