death

faisal, This is related to me being a female and all the restrictions that come with being a female, so I can't help but mention it. I am denied schooling in NY but my brother sure goes to all the sports camps in far away places. And right now, I cannot think of any other way around this. What I want isn't something lavish, it's my basic right. I cannot settle for anything lesser.

Until desi parents can leave their traditional baggage in the motherland, such idiotic episodes would continue to happen. It simply pisses me off that the parents chose to come and exploit opportunities in a new land yet shackle their girls from doing the same.

Such ridiculous tendencies lead to creating an underclass defined by sex just as it is back home in the sihtholes they come from.

The biggest issue facing south asian girls is leadership, self-esteem. The parents and those who condone their behavior are only excaerbating the situation.

And for those nins who said NY is a dangerous place? Which planet are you from? THousands of young people come from all over the world to study, work here. You have a higher chance of getting shot in Karachi or Delhi than in the Bronx.

Bingo. This reminds me of an Indian family I've bitched about on GS before. The mother is degree educated in India. The dad holds an MBA and is a VP at the world's biggest bank. You'd think that they'd have managed to leave the baggage behind, but NO.

They send their son to a $15,000-a-year private school with a terrific reputation that will all but assure his entry into any university in the UK.

They send their daughter to a local free state-run school which will be sure to crush and trample out any talent that she may have and ruin her future.
