A vert tragic and shocking day. The basketball icon, the GOAT, one of the best athletes this world has ever produced, Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash. He was 41.
Sadly his 13 year old daughter was with him and died as well.

One of the greatest players to wear the purple and gold. The whole city of angela is in mourning.

Surely LA is devastated but its not just that. Any kid, any young one, any elder who has ever been into sports specially basketball is grieving. Honestly I cannot shake the painful feeling off my head. It hurts man
Just a couple of days back when Lebron surpassed Kobe’s record of highest # of points we all were talking about it. This shock wont be overcome easily.
Hm Yea I understand. He was like the Superman in Athletics of current era even though he was retired but just few years back.
In very plain assesment, basketball is more of a street game. Not so elite, but rather a common person game. Every other house here has a hoop outside and you’ll see kids and even elders playing there specially in good weather. Every single school has a basketball team. Now there are other sports as well but nothing comes close to this.
So nobody can avoid this. And in that someone became so expert and rose to the fame, thats like one in few of the world.
And in Europe he became more famous cuz he had shown some soccer skills and he partnered up with some famous brands and appeared in ads with Messi and others.
But the top of everything is the human side of dying young (41 isnt that old) with her daughter who herself wanted to be a basketball star and the two could be seen everywhere together. Thats miserable. He had four daughters though one is just a couple of weeks old i think
As if I had been living under a rock all this time, even here in Europe everyone seems to know the guy. I'm not a sports person at all as you can tell but thanks for explaining :p
"No I get what you are saying. But I'm just saying is that people are mourning others as well (I think you said they are mourning mostly for Kobe and daughter? Yes my topic is more for Kobe. He is the "influencer". He has effected so many lives. He is the inspiration. From sports to personal lives. So his impact is all over the world. Others, not really! Hence more voice for him than others. Its very natural."
RIP all who lost their lives.
Throwing ball in a basket hardly a reason to make someone inspirational.
To some extent it's ok but in this day and age, there is unnatural, unbalanced and unnecessary hype about sports and athletes.
Millions are made by athletes while real heroes of society like paramedics, nurses, doctors, teachers, social workers etc. etc. don't get same amount of recognition.
Creating the series of motivational podcasts for kids not doing well
Sponsoring gifts programs for children hospitals AND visiting them very regularly
Fighting against racial injustice
And all other social programs make a basketball player inspirational? If you think its not , then sure, i’m sorry you have to see the posts about Kobe. Peace

^And these were only off-court activities. On-court inspiration is there as well but I can understand if non-athletes decline to recognize that. Not everyone may have that eye which is understandable
First:
Why can’t I quote you?
Why do I have to copy and paste you janab?
My response has no continuity with my inability to quote you.
It only shows Flag option in the end of your statement as valid option.
