death and shias

Shah Jahan I don't mind you setting the image of Shias right, it's just that when you call our Caliphs "wrong", it really seems childish. But then, some of the people calling the Imams wrong is childish too.

Who says nothing is impossible? I've been doing nothing all my life!

Ok, my cliphas(that includes Ali) governed with QURAN and the TRUE sunnah of Prophet MOhammad, your Imaams contradict with quran. READ your hadith book called "AL-KAFI." WANT ME TO PROVE IT or want me to buy you one??? I guess you would cry in front of admin: "oh plz admin ban Watcher, he is exposing us" so SHUT UP, before that shia-sunni non-sense erupts!!!

Salaam,

It has been a long time since i last visited this site. Nice to see things are pretty much the same.

As far as I am aware the crutch thing is not part of shi’a practice. You can read on the practice of burial in http://www.al-islam.org/laws/mayyit.html

With regards Usool al-kafi, it is a shi’a book however it is not said to be sahih as the sunnis talk of bukhari. It is a compilation of various traditions from the prophet and the imams of the ahl-ul bayt. Traditionists before al-Kulaini (the compiler of usul al-kafi)and traditionists after him, examined the isnads (chain of authorities) with great care. Their purpose was to make sure that all reporters of a particular tradition were men of true faith; al-Kulaini himself seems to be less concerned with the isnad than with the matn or content of the tradition. Thus he sometimes reports traditions with men in the isnad, who were not strictly speaking disciples of the Imams; sometimes they belong to a different persuasion like the Zaidis, sometimes they are ghulat, extremists in their views. Some men in the isnads are those who regarded one of the earlier Imams as the final Imam and there are even men entirely unconnected with Shi’i views. The scholars of tradition elaborated a system of categorising the different traditions according to the level of authenticity of a tradition, in terms of isnad and subject matter.

The number of traditions in al-Kafi is 15,181, according to another reckoning 15,176. If the traditions reported in different sections are counted, the number is over 1,000 more. Of the basic traditions, 5,072 are considered sound (sahih) by scholars, 144 are regarded as good (hasan), 178 are held to be trustworthy (muwaththaq), 302 are adjudged to be strong (qawi), and 9,484 are considered weak (da’if).

Allah hafiz.

Lumba, my friend: Read these pages of Al Kafi and tell me if these were really “traditions of prophet” ok? Thanks sir.

AlKafi vol.1 p.255
AlKafi vol.1 p.258
AlKafi vol.1 p.260

AlKafi vol.10 p.54
AlKafi vol.10 p.55
AlKafi vol.1 p.412

I can tell you what is written on those pages, but that would make me “basher” and a “bad” person to the eyes of Admins and other shias on this forum. So, I’ll leave the “READING” part to you. I hope you understand, what I mean.

Also tell me if those pages I gave you, really uphold the teachings of Quran.

Thanks, good day. Take it easy.

Salaam Watcher,

I read pages of al-Kafi and am also left in disbelief that this can not be true. As i have stated above the majority of the traditions quoted in al-kafi are da-if. As you know i have become a very infrequent visitor to these pages due to my busy schedule now however I will look at these ones again and endeveour to get back to you on them. You can always email one of the mujtahideen of the shi’a fiqh and ask for response. I am in the taqleed of agha seestani, www.najaf.org, you will find the email address there.

The thing that must be remembered is that the authencity of the twelver shi’a fiqh has been accepted by the centre of sunni learning Al-Azhar University. The explanation of all this is contained in the book ‘The Right Path’ a link to which I have posted before but you can find a full version on www.al-islam.org, also worthy of reading is The Peshawar Nights and Then I was Guided also available on the same site. From these you will see that the shi’a derive their belief and practices from the Quran, the sunnah of the prophet and ahl-e-bayt (who we believe to be divinely appointed imams).

Another book worthy to be read is Islamuna which is published by the Muhammadi Trust. It is written by a sunni alim (please contact Muhammi Trust for his details as I can not remember right now, search on www.al-islam.org for Muhamadi trust). Although I do not agree with some of his views the book talks of the different fiqh’s within the shi’a . It is a good insight and I believe will help move away from lumping all the thoughts of shi’a groups together.

Insh-Allah we shall all keep striving and as long as our intention is too submit to the will of Allah, then he will guide us.

Allah Hafiz.
