Seems like we muslims as a whole are nowadays feeling a bit downtrodden and low due to the current events. The feeling specially prevails in the chat room. How about all you intelligent peeps post some advice on dealing with anxiety and distress that the war is bringing to the hearts of all those who care.
I may not be too intelligent but i`ll start with some of my own advice…
Fear not..for as Allah says in the Quran (rough translation by Yousuf Ali follows)
008.030 Remember how the Unbelievers plotted against thee, to keep thee in bonds, or slay thee, or get thee out (of thy home). They plot and plan, and Allah too plans; but the best of planners is Allah.
i dont feel like studying or eating any good food or laughing or having fun and when i do i feel kinda guilty afterwards…
and others i know feel like that too
i think the best thing to do is pray namaz and read Quran and an extra 2 rakat nafal everyday if possible and then make dua for our sufferring brothers and sisters in iraq
coz
Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest" (Surah ar’Ra’d 13:28)
well one day or the other america has to pay for this....allah nai kabhi aisee qoum ko nahee chora jo apni taqat k gharoor main na-haq kisi mazloom per zulm karay....
Irem I feel you, last year I had such a hard time dealing with Afghanistan, my grades and health were going now, and now with Iraq we feel soo weak, but we must have saber and do dua, because even our beloved Prophet (saw) suffered
its okay yaar..dont make yourself sooooo unhappy over it,tho i know its natural…but try to divert the emotions into constructive channels :k: dont get depressed coz then u’ll become inactive…take advantage of the naimat Allah has given you and just pray and do whatever else u can for them… t c
Prayer is very important yes, but thats not the only thing one can do.
Consider the Prophet(SAW), he did not just sit at home all day and pray for world events to take place to change peoples lives. He mobilized people and got them to go out and spread their message. He urged others to get involved in the process.
I believe this is what we need to do. You dont like what one government is doing, so why are you just sittinig at home and not voicing it, or not participating in who gets chosen to be part of that government that is making decisions for you? Is it more halaal to sit at home and allow resolutions be drawn up to attack other peoples and countries without you having your voice in it? If Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Gandhi, or anyone else for that matter did that, would the world have changed as it has? It upsets me that people just want to talk about it and not do a thing. For those that say well I dont have any money, write then. Write to the local leaders, write to the newspapers, write to the radio stations, voice your opinion atleast. Go out and volunteer with agencies that help children in war torn countries, even if its an hour a day. Be a mentor to someone, do something. Dont just sit at home and pray because thats not part of being a muslim. We are not isolationists, that we isolate ourselves from the world and pray all day. There is a hadith that states something to the effect that, there is more blessings for the one who goes out and interacts with people in his daily life and deals with those struggles, than the one who isolates himself from others.
This message is for everyone, including my lazy self. Thanks for listening. Sorry if I have offended anyone.
maniac this is the best post I have seen from u.. yes we are all saddened by current events.. I felt like doing nothing .. helpless .. but in all this gloom and despair one can learn many things.. just talking of revenge and hatred isnt going to help mualims in future.. one must be rational to plan for betterment of muslims.. may be we muslims wee doing some actions that we needed this test.. look how many muslim counties around the world are behaving.. how arabs are fighting among themselves.. look at impotent arab league.. may be we have to suffer since we accept kings and dictators and not struggle against our own tyrants.. I dont feel for the scum Saddam but for the poor civilians who are dying.. after Saddam's brutality theynow have to face this USA-Britisg aggression!
