Dead ball

Remember how in backyard cricket if you hit the ball too far outside the fence you’d be ruled OUT? Well heres a very similar rule in the process of being adapted for the ICC XI vs Aus series.

I can think of atleast one person who is notorious for skying balls. He might actually benefit from this rule!

Sincerely,
Captain Lota

Re: Dead ball

hahahaha......true! Afridi's edged slogging will no more be dangerous in this case.

Bat per agayi tou chakka, edge howa tou dead, which otherwise used to be catch out on Mid On, Deep Mid wicket or recently Deep Fine Leg. These sky rocketing edges are leathal for our pathaan. This interesting scenario in Super Series might go into his favour.

Re: Dead ball

covering of stadium will take away 'weather' variable from the game

Re: Dead ball

I think these covered cricket stadiums are only in Aust. Aren't they? So he might benefit ofrom it only when Pakistan is touring Aust.

Re: Dead ball

Now that's really interesting. Has this rule been made by Afridi fans? :D

Re: Dead ball

how high is the roof??

they did say "in the unlikely event"!

Re: Dead ball

He did hit the roof when we won the ODI series last time against Aussies.

Re: Dead ball

I remember Afridi hitting the ceiling of the Astrodome twice in a double wicket tournament in Houston, and I think its the same height as the dome in Melbourne.
