So I been thinking for a while.
If there was no day and night… how would we calculate time ??
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
using a tawa
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
but how ?
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
we would use Sand in a Glass. Or have some water clock mechanism to count. Just like how people in space count time, they use a water based clock.
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
but what would you call it?
small sand—to make tea
big sand— to make chicken
like that ?
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
^The Sands of Time.

We would have invented divisions of the period based on our sleeping pattern. I am assuming that our day (consist of one awake period and one sleeping period) might be divided into 10 units. Five for work, and another five for sleep, rest, that kind of stuff.
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
boss… how.. every one sleep differnt duration.
/14 of my sleep would /10 of your sleep.
seriously.. think people ask to other people.
I tell you in few days why I asked.
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
Time is not calculated based on ‘day and night’ folks.
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
then how it is ?
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
so you make a capacitor, which release every so often.. since we dont have hr or min or sec.
you will ship it all the world… keep it sync. like that ?
how old are you dewana ?
I am million capacitor releases old…
how about you?
oh I am million and 3000 releases old.
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
Thank that mars sized object which hit earth during the Archean period and gave us the moon.
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
In a way yes.
You are talking similar to quartz watches.
Like I said day and nights are not needed for time.
Time still is calculated where days and nights are very very long.
Capacitor discharge has time constant. Quarts watches have set time intervals. (Older methods still used, are spring watches and pendulum frequency based on its weight.
All of these can be used to measure time WITHOUT having day and night.
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
Stop.
our sleep times differ even now. What I was saying is that in the absence of day and night, our biological clock would be the reference for us, and over the period of time, we would have found a good balance of the time that would have work for majority.
ok errmmm, I really don’t want to burst your bubble, but day and night is a Sun dependent phenomenon and has nothing to do with the moon
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
subah hoti hai , shaam hoti hai
zindagi youn hee tamaam hoti hai
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
yar physics problem hai. tie heavy tawa with long string of known length. make small oscillations. you got yoself a simpal pendu-lum. 2piroot(l/g) time period measure kar lena.

yeah you could derive a fixed time constant from other forms of simple harmonic motion too. an RC circuit with some way of compensating for decay, an LC circuit in resonance, some kind of mechanical equivalent spring that compresses and decompresses under a known force. if you have a uniform graviational field the pendulum is an easy choice. whatever way you pick, connect the unit of measurement with a counter, and you got yoself a clock.
are you building a spaceship and going away on a date? :\
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
Sounds like you people just recently completed your Physics course. ![]()
Re: day and night and day and night and day and night… 3
Dewana!!!
pay attention!!!
We calculate that on the based of…
in canada sun goes down at 6
in Arctic sun goes down at 11
dude that notion of hr/min/sec/month/year is all driven from day… a day
24hr
there is no time.. we only are trying to make up new units, to measure.
how could you possibly define any unit of time if there was never day and night(24 hrs)
