Dawn condemns Zionist crimes against humanity

I read this editorial today in Dawn, where it clearly shows how the paper looks at the conflict.
After reading this editorial, my respect for the paper has really increased. It is heartening to see that the paper, while steadfastly rejecting anti-Islam terrorism of Talibanic mentality, can still discern right from wrong.
I have seen people against Israeli terrorism but at the same time supporting Talibaniat, and I have also seen people condemning Talibaniyat but then also endorse Zionist crimes.
Both of these people are no different from each other. They are two sides of the same coin.

If anyone loves to say “Death to Talibaniyat” then he should also say “Death to Zionism and its occupation”. This is the only way to show one’s humanity.

ZIONISM MURDABAD.

One shouldn’t be surprised if Israel does carry out its threat and once again turns Gaza into an inferno.

Its war crimes in the strip are too recent to be repeated in detail: during the air and land operations that began in December 2008 and ended in January 2009, the Israeli war machine slaughtered 1,200 Palestinians, 40 per cent of them civilians, including women and children. Its crimes included the use of the incendiary white phosphorous agent on civilian targets, the bombing of a mosque when the faithful were at prayer, and — in keeping with its track record — devastating a shelter where displaced persons had sought refuge. These are not allegations but crimes confirmed by various international rights bodies and the UN Human Rights Council.

The international community must wake up and do all it can to pre-empt yet another massacre of Palestinians, because Israel’s deputy prime minister said his army could invade the Mediterranean strip again. In a radio interview Silvan Shalom threatened “to raise the level of our activity” in Gaza and accused Hamas of creating tension. The brazenness of the Israeli threat becomes obvious when one realises that the invasion threat comes in the wake of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent visit to Washington, where he told his guests categorically that he was not going to stop settlement activity. While still on American soil he told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, “Jerusalem is not a settlement” — a reference to illegal constructions in Arab Jerusalem.

If the Israeli state has made up its mind to carry out another act of mass butchery in the holy land, nothing can stop it. Two unfortunate realities hit with force. One, the Arab-Islamic world is utterly powerless. It has neither economic nor military muscle to challenge Israel’s state terrorism. Two, the superpower stands deactivated. Israel has defied one American administration after another, knowing full well that the powerful Israeli lobby will challenge any congressman or American official who has the temerity to criticise it. By continuing the settlement activity, Israel is displaying its power to bend American policymaking process to its will.

Re: Dawn condemns Zionist crimes against humanity

The Taliban are fringe elements within a society that has condemned them. And the Dawn like most Pakistani sees that as evident.

What the Israelis are doing in Gaza in heinous. Amazing that they suffered from a genocide and they turn into the perps themselves. Sickening indeed.

They will get what they deserve.

"devastating a shelter where displaced persons had sought refuge. These are not allegations but crimes confirmed by various international rights bodies and the UN Human Rights Council."

Just think about it. I often wonder at those جنگلی جانور people who have audacity to support this filthy regime. May them be cursed.
