How can one tell if the person they are dating isn’t just using them (time pass, sex etc)?

If he/she wants you to meet their family, invites u to have dinner with their parents etc.. that's the most obvious way..
Also, if ur partner suggests it, not u having to bring it up..

In my experience...when a guy/girl brings up family or at least touches on topics of the future...that shows they are thinking long term.

Oh, also if they give u their house (as in family living there) phone number..
If they don't want you to have it a few weeks or months down the line you're more likely his/her 'dirty little secret.'
