I dont think people look upto them. I dont think its even as serious as all that you posted.
The people Ive seen marrying into white families marry because they’ve fallen in love. Also, I find non-desies to be less judgemental so that may play a part in the equation. Some people may have a very hard time finding a good rishta in the desi community because of education, lack of status, money, etc. They will find someone who is non-desi and doesnt care about those things They dont have to worry about mama’s boys, the caste system, having at least a masters, etc.
