Couple of weeks ago I ran into this guy who used to be friends with someone I liked a very long time ago. All 3 of us were friends but then grew apart after some time. He was there with his sister and cousins. Talking to him, I remembered all the good times we had while studying for exams, and just hanging out etc. The guy is very familiar with Pakistani culture, and my parents were there and they were very nice to him and seemed to like him.

We’ve been texting and talking on facebook and on the phone as well. Couple of nights ago he said, “I like you and I want to take our friendship to the next level.” I opened up and told him about what happened with me and our mutual friend and how much it hurt and affected me. He said he was willing to wait for me and we should be friends.

He’s a great guy, has a nice personality and a strong character. He is Muslim btw, and I would seriously consider marrying him.

What do you guys and gals think?

If he’s a nice guy and he’s muslim then his race shouldn’t matter. Besides, I rarely find desi guys attractive so I may have to go though a similar situation

I reckon it’d be difficult for me though, I knew this really nice Jewish guy at uni who’d converted to Islam and showed interest for marriage purposes. Now, he wasn’t my type so I never let it get to a stage where I involved parents. But I could just picture my dad’s face if I had come home and said he was interested in marrying me. Although, it shouldn’t really matter because he’s a good muslim and a great guy.
