Re: Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs Opens at Lahore

there are Muslim saints?

Re: Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs Opens at Lahore

Yes there are...but look at the Urs being used to lit the drugs & to enhance the drug trade....Data Darbar is one of the largest concentration of "Nashais(Addicts)" in Lahore...the Mosques court yard is full of Hashish/Heroin/Crack-cocaine/Alcohol users lying on the floors, spending day ins & outs there...Similarly the Mazaar is used for many UnIslamic practices not related to Islam at all...

Re: Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs Opens at Lahore

May Allah give these people guidance

Re: Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs Opens at Lahore

You Wahhaabiii infidels!! :mad3:

Hashish definitely opens some locked doors on the path to spiritual enlightenment especially when accompanied by Qawwaali. :Pagri: :smokin:

Re: Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs Opens at Lahore

^amen to that my cheapass gujrati brotha

Re: Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs Opens at Lahore

lol gamma.

This is so sad. I once criticized mazaars and dargas as being somewhat unIslamic since people make such a big deal over one person and go to beg for manaatain etc. I was told that if I criticize too much, I’ll get cursed.

:bummer:

It is said these people really did work miracles and they gifts of God…

But then, by the same logic, doesn’t a good lawyer have a gift of God when they get an innocent person off the hook or doesn’t a firefighter have the gift of God when they save someone from a burning house?

Never understood the logic of these things.

Sadly

people kill other people while they are praying in masjid, Nothing can be more UnIslamic than that ! .

These saint travelled thousands of miles just to preach Islam. The primary teaching of these saints were of Love and tolerance, which unfortunatly getting out of lives of muslims.

It was due to the preaching and teachings of these saint that people accepted Islam as their religion.

So while criticising what people do at these mazar, we can not undermine the Role of these saints in spreading the message of peace at far away places.

Re: Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs Opens at Lahore

Is that what they were - they spread Islam when it was first introduced on the subcontinent? I thought the muslim armies were the ones to bring Islam in with them.

And what about the "miracles" these saints were supposed to have done?

And we dont have a concept of sainthood so why do we call them saints?

At any rate - the habit of doing drugs on these sites is kinda stupid. Almost seems influenced by the previous hindu festivals that might have occurred in these areas.

Re: Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs Opens at Lahore

Who is denying preachings & teachings of these saints…I am just criticizing the people using the mazars of these pious saints for their henious activities including the selling street drugs by drug mafia & drug addicts.

Re: Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs Opens at Lahore

Q-1)Is that what they were - they spread Islam when it was first introduced on the subcontinent? I thought the muslim armies were the ones to bring Islam in with them.
You are pretty much misconcepted about the spread of Islam…Islam spread by the good deeds of these pious saints in the subcontinent rather then by force.

Q-2)And what about the “miracles” these saints were supposed to have done?
Again a misconception…These are well known saints ,not some miracle/magic creators.

Q-3)And we dont have a concept of sainthood so why do we call them saints?
These are called saints as in “Vali Allah”…not some saints like sainthood in Christianity.

Q-4)At any rate - the habit of doing drugs on these sites is kinda stupid. Almost seems influenced by the previous hindu festivals that might have occurred in these areas.
It is not some habitual drug using there…it is a big drug mafia using these places for their henious activities.
