Do you currently own one? Which one do you recommend?
The the cellphone on windshield holster is not the ideal way to record, as needed/wanted. I have heard GoPro cams are very nice for their video, but the enclosure hinders audio?! Has anyone used it?

It can be used in a better way too .. like for example some homies going together and having fun (unless they pass out), or a family road trip.. it'll be nice to have.

i Used the GoPro once, the video quality is brilliant but you're right the audio gets slightly hindered although i fear it may be due to the way i used it.

I am part of Uber drivers group on facebook and most of them swear of thiis dash cam.

That looks like a nice camera, but does it have to be actually installed/wired with the kit? Can it be setup as PnP instead if ignition-off recording or dvr is not needed?

There is SD card support so DVR is not needed. Some of them detect motion and start recording.
