Re: DARSE QURAN SURAH 61
He is not a Sunni ... His beliefs that I have obtained from our interactions are as so:
1) He does not believe in miracles 2) He does not believe in qadr 3) He believes secular scientists are equivalent to scholarly authorities 4) He does not believe in Heaven and Hell - in the way we believe in them 5) He does not believe in Shaitan or Magic - in the way we believe in them 6) His axiom is that Islam has no clergy and all people must interpret Islam as a philosophy and that Mullaism - or hijacking of religion has been done to Islam by Mullas to keep them in power and well fed and that he sees himself almost prophetically working people away from association to Ulema.
Furthermore his methods are purely based on rationalism ... that is why he does not answer our questions ... he gives us his arguments in order to follow his thought processes because he gives them more weight than textual and traditional teachings. It is more important for him to follow a train of thought that leads to his conclusions. However, if we truly did that we could actually destroy his arguments, but one would have to be well trained in critical reasoning ... every refutation would be ignored and has to date been ignored by him. He is most likely a follower of Perveziya ... or something similar.
His stance is Qur'anic (in his own mind's eye) rather than hadith/Sunnah based as well as Qur'an.
His stance makes no sense though. He says we can't look at hadith for guidance which is ridiculous because what about the example of prayer? Qur'an states we must pray but the directions and how to pray came from our prophet pbuh. It's like talking to a blank wall. He just put up s reply to my post which AGAIN has NO relevance to the questions I just asked. The poster is crazy. He can't give a straight answer and acts as though he has all the knowledge! He says the proof of the originality of Qur'an can only be studied through language! The proof of Qur'an's originality is in the Qur'an itself! The ayahs, the words! Then he says the prophet was not illiterate he was given an actual book! Which just boggles the mind. The Qur'an as anyone who has done some Islamic history knows was revealed ORALLY. It was only written down afterward. But no point in telling him that cause he just goes on about mullahs and how evil they are. Bloody ridiculous. Yes there are crazy mullahs but there are also teachers and scholars that we learn from too! When you ask about his qualifications you get no answer! Sorry to rant. Thanks for your post
