Hair ‘sacked from internationals’

The International Cricket Council has refused to comment on reports that Australian Darrell Hair has been removed from its elite umpires panel.
The AP news agency quoted an unnamed ICC official saying Hair would not officiate in international matches.
It was a claim also made by Indian TV but an ICC spokesman said no decision would be announced until Saturday.
Hair’s future has been unclear since the ball-tampering row in the fourth Test at The Oval in August.
He and fellow official Billy Doctrove imposed a five-run penalty against Pakistan on the fourth afternoon against England.
When Pakistan initially refused to take to the field in protest after tea, the umpires awarded the game to England by forfeit.
Touring captain Inzamam-ul-Haq was charged with ball-tampering and bringing the game into disrepute, but was cleared of the first charge at a subsequent hearing.
Hair offered to quit as a top-level umpire in the aftermath of the fiasco at The Oval in exchange for $500,000, but later retracted the offer. Pakistan then lodged a formal written complaint against him, asking for an inquiry into his conduct.

Controversial umpire Hair banned?

**Australia’s controversial umpire Darrell Hair is ‘more or less certain’ to be banned for life by the ICC. A decision to this effect has been taken at the ICC Executive Board meeting which began on Friday.

ICC is not reacting to it officially right now, and said that they would “neither confirm nor deny” the news. An official announcement is expected on Saturday at the end of the two-day meeting.**

Re: Darrel Hair...clean bowled...

ICC Umpire of the Year. Darrell Hair. **
For his preparedness to unremittingly challenge the accepted notion that the best official is one who remains unobtrusive. **His pre-eminence has prompted Australian colleague Daryl Harper to shave his head so that he can be known as "umpire Daryl No-Hair".

Re: Darrel Hair...clean bowled...

I am really glad for his ouster. But now that he is out, Pakistan should approach ICC to undo the ban (reimburse him for unpaid salary due to ban), change the result of Oval match to Abandoned and force ECB to STFU for 800k in damages.

Re: Darrel Hair…clean bowled…

:nuch:

Re: Darrel Hair…clean bowled…

It only happened because of Inzi’s refusal to play - that made this whole situation much more serious. So those who think Inzi made a mistake, should actually send him flowers :rose:

Re: Darrel Hair...clean bowled...

Re: Darrel Hair...clean bowled...

The voting went as follows:

The Asian bloc, comprising India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, tabled a motion at the meeting that Hair be taken off the panel. The motion was put to a vote and was passed by a 7-3 majority. The four Asian nations plus South Africa, Zimbabwe and the West Indies voted against Hair. England, Australia and New Zealand wanted him to continue.
