I am a 13 year old girl. I dont have the fairest skin, but my skin is darker around my chin and my upper lips, even if i thread the hair off my upper lips, that area is still darker than the rest of my skin. Why is that? Any way to tone my complexion ? Thankks :).

Noone :(
Re: Darkness around upper lips and chin.
I think it's common among desi to have darker areas around the mouth and eyes so don't stress about it. As far the upper lip being dark... not sure why that is. If it's the hair that's causing the darkness, then maybe you should try to wax instead.
Re: Darkness around upper lips and chin.
i have the same issue, i have darkness around my mouth and chin and my forhead only my cheeks has better complexion..
Re: Darkness around upper lips and chin.
I have the same problem, my upper lip is much darker than the rest of my face. This can be caused by upper lip hair and the removal of the hair also. After putting on a primer, I cover these darker areas with a concealer and then apply foundation. It helps disguise the dicolouration.
Re: Darkness around upper lips and chin.
**Hmm you've mentioned that you're only 13...when i was younger I used to notice the same about the area around my mouth too and it used to be particularly obvious in photos, making me feel conscious. I think that over the years it has become very unnoticeable - now I don't know if that is just for me but the same may happened for you. I didn't need to do anything...it just became okay after a while.

Re: Darkness around upper lips and chin.
Go to a dermatologist, who can prescribe a cream containing hydroquinone (bleaching agent)....at higher than 2%. You can only find creams containing HQ at 2% or lower in the market....but it would take time in lightening the skin. A higher concentration requires a prescription.
OR...you can get chemical peels/microdermabrasion sessions done by a professional aesthatician. Keep in mind though that any lightening treatments will make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so you'll have to apply a good sunblock at 15-30 minutes before going out in the sun. Sunblock should be part of your regular skin care routine. Make up is just a temporary fix......consult a dermatologist to learn about your options on how to get rid of the issue. Natural bleaching agents such as lemon, yogurt, cucumber can also work....but they will take time. If you think that threading is causing the darkening of the upper lip....as the friction of the thread against your skin might do that....then maybe go to a different threader or look into electrolysis of the upper lip. Either way....see a derm.
Re: Darkness around upper lips and chin.
Like RV said HQ (poss with Retin-A to speed up the process) or a peel or microdermabrasion should do the trick..
(Btw if u do decide to go with HQ please don't use it long-term, more than 4 months or so.. In the long run it can cause ur skin to get darker)..
Re: Darkness around upper lips and chin.
I had the same problem and Gina recommended Glycolic Peels for the whole face and skin lightening cream for the darker areas.
Re: Darkness around upper lips and chin.
