Which colours should very dark people stay away from?

Here’s my list:

Bright yellow
Luminous orange
Bright orangey red
White

i disagree with orange!

I wear alot of coral or reddy oranges and always get compliments and feel great in it.

I have a goldenly dark skin tone though not a dusky dark skin tone.

Definately Sky Blue, turqoise and any tone of Purple.

dark complexions look beautiful when they wear reds and blues, their skin tone just lights up

Blues can look lovely against darker skin, same with red, black and emerald green..

I think if they have more golden or bronzey tones (like J-lo :D) they look gorgeous in white as well..

Dusky pink tends to look bad imo..

I m dark (nc42) and all those colors u guys are talking about except bright green, I have gotten compliments for. So I am stricly against restricting ur self from colors because of ur skin tone. Try everything and see what goes for u.

I agree. But i said those colors for most in general otherwisei am also of belief that some people can carry some or even all colors very well inspite of their complexion being fair or dark or whatever.

Btw, i think ivory white and offwhites actually look nice on a darker skin tone.

if the skin is well moisturized,clear, glowing and smooth, and the girl is totally confident about her look, you’re right, that any color would look stellar on her. it’s the way she carries it

but some desi nanis always used to say parrot green is bad for darker complexions so i’m just parroting what they say :D…my cousin who has a little bit of a darker skin tone wore a type of green color that i’ve never seen before for her reception and she looked gorgeous in it

and turqoise i thought looked good on any skintone

Well if you ask me, the outfit in the pic u posted is green tones nt turquoise. AND i dont see even this color doing much for the girl’s complexion even though she has make-up on and all but its not bringing out her complexion as a complimenting color should.

^ if you are talking about complimentry colors then i think it has more to do with skin's undertone. for exapmle some ppl are dark but have yellow undertone, and some ppl who are equally dark could have olive undertone, and same color would not go for both skins. for example i think i have beige/yellow undertone and the best color which compliments my skin is any shade of pink, oranges, and beige. my friend who is same skin tone as i looks amazing is white just plain whites, blues and greens, she wore a hot pink dress on her dholki, and all of us were thinking that she will not look good in it because of her skin tone, but she had to wear it cuz her bhabhi bought it for her, and she didn't wanted to be rude by not wearing it, and man when she came out wearing that hot hot pink dress, she looked amazing gorgeous.

i would suggest ppl to go out and try what goes for you.
