Re: dark skin... bright lip??
salooo can you give me an idea of your skin tone like is it more yellowish/olive or more dusky? Maybe a celeb who has skin tone like yours?
I am also darker skinned if we are similar i can give you ideas!
Re: dark skin... bright lip??
id say my skintobe is more olivy. like abit darker than bipasha basu?? im the colour where i cnt wear like aany pink lipstick it has to be certain shades of pink?
Re: dark skin... bright lip??
Bipasha Basu's gorgeouss...
I was looking for makeup type pics of her but saw in most of them her style seems to be to play up her eyes and keep her lips quite low key.. I do think medium and dark skins can get away with a lot of colours that look horrible and ott on paler skins tho.. What sort of red do you like? Do you mean a bright cherry red or a darker burgundy or wine colour?

Re: dark skin... bright lip??
Instead of a bright pink....maybe try lighter pink....such as a pinkish-brown color. I like Taupe by MAC. Maybe try a blackberry red, brownish-red instead of a bright red.
The makeup artists at the store/mall could even suggest colors that compliment your complexion.
Re: dark skin... bright lip??
You can try brick reds and more plum instead of bright reds. Reds with blue undertones would work too.. there are so many shades of red.
Re: dark skin... bright lip??
yeh i guess i should ask an attendent at the makeup counter. i always kinda have to dramatic eyes and wear a nude lip.. like a bright red or bright pink is just not wearable by darker skin tones and it frustrates me. my best frend is really pale and she can wear nothing but a bright lipstick and it instantly makes her look glamorous and sheek. but i always wear pales pinks or browny nudes and its sooo sad! lol... any pics of nice colour lipsticks on darker skintones??
Re: dark skin... bright lip??
^You could trie a plum color as well.
Type in lipstick shades for daker skin tones in Google and hit the images button....you can get an idea from the pictures the search yields. But still...it's better to try a color on in person before purchasing it. I'd still suggesting consulting a makep artist.
Re: dark skin… bright lip??
You need to buy slightly ‘purple/blue’ reds instead of the bright cherries and orange reds. If you keep your eyes fairly nude with just a wash of eye-color and a eyeliner you can pull-off deep reds.
Deepika has a dusky complexion and here’s a picture of her in a shade of red:
Re: dark skin... bright lip??
Make sure you put some foundation appropriate to your kin tone, then apply the lipstick. My sister who is also bit dusky often have to even tone her complexion and give it a smooth look to pull of solid coloured lipstick.
Re: dark skin… bright lip??
I bought MAC’s ‘girl about town’ lipstick a few days ago and LOVE it! My skin colour is medium (NC37) but I think it would look flattering on all skin tones:
Re: dark skin... bright lip??
I'm NC42 to NC44 kinda skin and i use to wear brown kinda nude lips but not anymore! I found out so many bright lip colors suits on my skin colour...I even bought bright red lip gonna wear it with dark black smokey eyes..i have nude lips which is like tea pink..oranges...personaly i love purple kinda lips they suits me well...
So, its all about experimenting! And i have seen so many dark girls wearing hot pink kinda colour and it suits very well on their skin tone.
