Dark pores/hair follicles on legs

So I have been trying to look for an answer to this problem for months now, so I figured id post it here and see if anyone of you guru’s had any insight..

so on my legs i have these really dark dark pores or hair follicles..
and wether i shave or whatever they are still visible…
it kinda looks like i haven’t shaved but my legs are smooth… :bummer:

i am getting laser done.. had my second appt… hair is growing back super slow but the pores are still dark and visible… i thought laser would get rid of the problem but nope!

anyone have any idea? or has seen this before…

Thanks!

i have the same horrid issue chester... it looks soo bad cuz my skin is so fair and then i have these ugly black dots all over the place on my arms and legs... everyone says exfoliating regularly will get rid of them but i scrub-a-dub-dub at them daily for years and it still looks bad :(

they also have this stuff called 'tend skin' that they say helps get rid of them but u have to apply it 2X a day with a cotton ball and im not good with remembering to do that... but it might be worth a try for u...

im starting laser in aug iA.. i hope that solves all my problems iA!!!!!

laser hair removal can’t do much if the hair hasn’t broken the skin, you have ingrowns and there isn’t too much you can do. just keep on exfoliating and use an aqua gycolic body lotion to help. it also helps fade dark spots from any mosquito bites or slight acne, not severe that would need laser.

Amazon.com: Aqua Glycolic Hand & Body Lotion, 6 fl oz (177 ml): Health & Personal Care

What method of hair removing are u girls using?

i used to wax for years but it made no difference on my hair growth..so then i started shaving and then for the past 2 yrs ive been waxing again and my hair ALWAYS comes back the same way... even when i wax, it comes back looking like i shaved, no matter how long i keep up with it.. so i said forget the pain and the expense, im going back to shaving! my last hope now is laser hair removal which ill start in aug iA

i think it may be a hormonal thing though..some pple are just prone to ingrowns...sucks :(

Re: Dark pores/hair follicles on legs

i have the little dots on my legs too because of shaving, but they're not that visible, i wish i didn't have them at all though. i can't be bothered to wax, i don't like putting myself through pain. it's weird though, i don't get the dots on my arms but i get them on my legs..hmm..is there any way to not get them? perhaps a better razor?

Re: Dark pores/hair follicles on legs

glycolic acid + lactic acid + amlactin lotion takes care of the ingrown hair..
exfoliate in shower.

Re: Dark pores/hair follicles on legs

use a loofah on your legs. i had the same dark follicles you're talking about and it really made a huge difference regarding the ingrown hair, etc.

Exfoliate exfoliate.. ingrown hair cause the tiny blemishes u're talking about.. try the exfoliation method chanda suggests as well.

can you buy all this separately or mixed together...? I thought glycolic acid was an element that's present in acne medications, i didn't realize you can buy it alone! sorry, just really confused...

i do exfoliate... but i guess not everyday.
its just dark underneath my skin and its so damn annoying!
i am gonna start using the tend skin and then amlactin lotion... does that sound right?
i also think im gonna start spray tanning my legs... that way it might hide some of the dark pores better.

Re: Dark pores/hair follicles on legs

chester - they will go if you're having laser but it will take 3-4 treatments (if it's Laser, not IPL). just keep exfoliating in the meantime - i use ingrow go (like tend skin) and it works pretty well if you follow the instructions as use it as often as they suggest.

yeah you can buy it separately...try platinumskincare.com or makeupartistschoice.com

mix a few drops of each in a palm full of amlactin lotion..and apply on your legs...

before removing the hair, mkae sure you apply rubbingalcohol, it should solve the ingrown hair issues
