How come this mehndi is SO DARK

Sometimes the mehndi artist mix their own mehndi cones and it can turn out really dark cos of the chemicals in them. My best friend put on mehndi for a few hours and it was mixed by the mehndi artist, and it looked quite dark too.
Or maybe she's just really lucky with mehndi :/

WOW! that looks good. But it looks like the outline of her mehndi is done in black mehndi. But I think there are probably chemicals mixed in with the mehndi to make it that dark. I love the burgundy colour though.

any specific premixed cones recommended? or additional ingredients one should add when mixing/applying mehndi?

i used to mix my own mehndi and got good color results- lemon juice, i would brew really strong black tea and mix that in, lavender essential oil, and honey and let it sit overnite before you use it
i heard using tamarind syrup makes it redder, but i haven’t tried it
i don’t trust pre-mixed mehndi- i don’t want all those chemicals seeping into my body
