Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
^ always nice to see makers of serials making an effort to communicate with the audience! please keep more plays like this coming, intelligent, well worded and thought provoking scripts thanks to Mohd. Ahmed and a director who compliments the style perfectly, great teamwork!
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
BTW any thoughts on what is going on in their house? black magic?? or psychic disorders??
its complicated for sure, but I think black magic is a convenient excuse for something that goes deeper, its obvious how much faizan hates his mother, and he is taking that hatred out on his wives. whatever he is dealing with has made him bitter towards all women, the mother seems to be hiding the reason, something to do with the husband's death, maybe faizan blames her for his death...instead of examining the reasons behind his psychopathic behavior mother keeps blaming jadoo very conveniently. very typical of our culture, instead of looking at our own shortcomings and past mistakes we tend to put the blame entirely on others.
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
I just have one request - when you are making plays like these, can you please follow the one hour weekly episode format - please please!
I for one cannot sit through the 15 minute dailys - just when you start getting into the story, it ends. That's one reason I am not watching this one - don't have the patience to sit through a 100 episodes that are 15 minutes in length sigh
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
@ Rukhsar, if you are not watching this play... you are really missing something !! RECOMMENDED in 'Caps' !
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
^ If they make it a 35 minute weekly episode that goes for 22-33 weeks then I am willing to watch it :) I can't do these 15 minute long 100 episodes. I lose interest after about 5 episodes.
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
^ you know I am not a fan of soaps either but the way this one is shot and written, and the topic itself makes it very relevant to have shorter scenes but impactful...if this one was a weekly thing it would become a bit of a drag, too long a cliffhanger to wait an entire week and easy to lose interest, won't be the same. Something to do with this particular genre which makes the story at hand more interesting to follow, after all it only revolves around 5 - 6 main characters who are in every other scene, for a full 40 min episode it would not leave the same impact and will drag and sound repetitive, since the script is not a heavy dosage full length drama material with long scenes and conversations.
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
So after some good reviews in this thread, I watched this drama over the last 4 days.
It has a lot of shaista shaista undertones....problematic young man that the entire family is worried for, bebo khala being constantly teased about abdul qudoos, someone she really doesn't wanna get married to...
The girl playing Suriya is doing a fine job...she's a newcomer I think. Shahrukh is also doing a great job. Maheen is good, but I dont really feel for her character...she's an educated working woman, but is deciding to stay with an abusive husband for what reason? It's not love for sure, so her MIL? It's hard to believe.
I wish the story would progress, but it's been circling around the same issues for the last 20 episodes. Abusive relationships between a husband/wife & father/daughter. Despite all the wazeefay and taveez, nothing seems to change in the characters lives.

I agree with you 100%. This drama is dragging. 'Shaista Shaista' & 'Don't Jealous' were well-done......but this one needs a good jump-start.
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
i like this drama. it needs to be progressing more than 15 mins daily though
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
this drama is going well.

thanks DB :) I am still hesitant to watch it. Don't have the patience for it I think. Maybe when it ends after a 100 episodes next year, I might skip through 30 episodes in one go ;-)
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
this drama is very boring and uninteresting. even if u watch it's episodes skipping by 2's or even 10's u hardly miss anything.
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
The past 2 episodes have scared the living day lights out of me. HAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII , how will i sleep????????? hair raising episodes. uff uff uff
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
Alright after so many recommendations I finally watched a few episodes. The premise is good but again the 15 minute narrative kills the proper development of a complete story or thought process so you are made to skip 2-3 of these mini episodes to realize that the story hasn't progressed as much as you thought it would have and thus you don't feel bad about skipping those episodes. Blame it on commercialization and the channel's demand to create such short episodes to fill their time slots that fantastic writers like Mohd. Ahmed end up succumbing to such pressures sigh
Salma Zafar is a natural as usual. I really enjoyed the acting of the guy playing Shahrukh and the hijabi girl working at Faizan's office. Both are new faces for me and both are performing well. Infact the hijabi girl is very pretty. She reminds me of a prettier version of Priyanka Chopra.
Is it just me or is the story quite evident that Shahrukh and the jadoo lady are working together to cause problems for this family?
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
^ which episode are you on now?
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
^ it was the one where the abused wife was acting all weirdo due to Ms. Jadoo.
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
^ This is one drama that's managed to still keep me engaged . Stopped watching maat a few weeks back , KPKPT 2 months back, humsafar a few weeks back (u guys have seen my comments on the threads of these shows :p) Dareecha has become part of my daily weekday routine. I have to watch it after work otherwise i get really anxious (socho!!) the story has supernatural elements but is very relatable. The direction is amazing, very MJ-esque. Farrukh Faiz really enhances the story with his brilliant direction and gives actors the center stage to shine. A few days back, I found out that imran ali decided to leave the drama in the middle of the shooting, despite being the central character, and the team went through a period of crises, while trying to find a suitable replacement. Basically i am PISSED as hell and want to shoot him... ullo ke pathe na maheen ko itna mara!! husrut hee reh gaee uss ko pit-tay hooa dekhne kee. I was hoping that in one of the future episodes his dead dad or aunt will beat him black and blue...
on a serious note, i think its VERY VERY unprofessional to just walk out of a project esp when you are the CENTRAL character. Imran Ali was a no-body before dareecha. His roles prior to this drama were medicore at best and dareecha helped him showcase his versatility as an actor. If he makes it big, he owes it all to the dareecha team.!His excuse for leaving was his wedding and 'other commitments'!! how LAME!!! these days even women in pakistan don't take too much time off from work after their wedding. he's still a guy!
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
^ forgot to add. FITE MOON!
Re: Dareecha (Ary Digital)
