**dard dil ko de gayaa, aankhoN ko paanee de gayaa
jaatay jaatay woh mujhe apnee nishaanee de gayaa.

ruNg gaya woh is qadar palkoN kee jhaalar ko meree
khwaab kuchh woh sabz, peelay, aasmaanee de gayaa.

meree bujhtee lau ko jab se kar gayaa hai tez woh
TooTtee saaNsoN ko meree zindagaanee de gaya.

le gayaa woh saath apnay vasl kee har aik aas
shaam-e-furqat ke liye yaadeN suhaanee de gayaa.

suNg meray uskee nisbat thee kuchh aisee laa-jawaab
jo kisee se keh na paaooN woh kahanee de gayaa**
