“However, the concept of Dar Al-Harb and Dar Al-Islam are not explained in the Qur’ân or Sunnah (tradition of the Holy Prophet (P)), says the majority of scholars. It is, in fact, a result of Ijtihad (religious endeavour), which is a terminology used to describe religious endeavour to exercise personal judgement based on the Qur’ân and the Sunnah.[2]"
