Danes face growing Muslim storm

Re: Danes face growing Muslim storm

True. But given the political climate of today, a picture showing the prophet (pbuh) with a bomb on his head is not just for chuckles. It's incitement. Every country has laws against inciting the public.

Only a blind fool would actually think this is about expression. Needless to say, even free expression is not consequence free. Thus, the boycott is fine by me. And for the most part, that is what is being advocted in addition to a chorus of diplomatic protest.

Not that this is what is grabbing the headlines, but what can one do when there are vested interests...

I am sure if I go in research, I will find enough Jesus Cartoons in European media, that is neither protested so violently as well no Govt comes and issues a apology for it.....

Protested so violently? What you are seeing is the exception to the rule, dude. Condemn it, but to treat it as normative is wishful thinking (and that's sad...).

Needless to say, you're simply not convincing...so what of Christians remain silent? It wasn't always like that...and I don't think it's really a good thing that they've been silenced and castrated to the extent that they won't even say a wimper.

Demanding civil behavior, even if it is with forceful rhetoric, is right. No matter what creed you follow.

If these violent protests force Danish Govt to issue an apology at last, the harm to Islam will be more than taking it peacefully. Since this creates a view of Islam being Rigid...

I have a hard time the people we allegedly should be concerned about are impartial or unbiased in this matter. Rather, we will look after ourselves...and so long as the lesson is learned that this world is much smaller than we think, and that free speech has (gasp!) consequences, the better we'll all be.

It's for this reason why I support the Western world in it's criticism of the Arab media for it's racist depictions of Jews, that go far beyond commenting on the illegal and brutal occupation of Palestinian lands.

And btw, I do remember Hindu's rioting over a painting of a god not too long ago. Then there's the valentine's day protests...and it still is the case in certain areas of India that if a Muslim is caught eating beef...it means trouble.

Just as Muslims in India needed to learn how to respect Hindu sensitivities, such lessons need to be applied on a global scale.
