On the corner of eye (right eye- area between nose and eyes), sometime there is some dandruff like flakes develops. I have tried many ointments but in vain. It re-appears as soon as my skin gets dry. I always try to keep the area moisten but still. No medication works. what should i do???
Even nowadays it seems like my right eye is shrinking due to this
Please if any one of u can help in this regards i ll b grateful.
Hi Adeela,
Let me help you on this,
Your condition seems to be like Blepharitis, or more so of meibominitis. On the inner parts of Eyelids, there are Meibomium glands which secrete a wax like substance that form a layer on the eyeball, more so on the cornea. If the production of this waxy substance is more, say due to some infection, allergy, or due to dryness of the eyes, you will get flakes. The solution is
1. Daily wash your eyelashes and eyelids with warm water, cleansing them with Johnsons Baby soap or shampoo.
2. Just Before Sleep, wash your eyelashes, then wait them to dry, then Apply Neosporin-H ointment.
3. Use artificial tears which contain Carboxymethylcellulose, three times a day for 5 days.
Within 5 days you will get good relief, and then you should wash your eyeslashes twice a week with Johnsons baby shampoo or soap.
