Idiotic thread, but khair. Just one quick question I had for the audience: Prostitutes aren't human, or can't be Muslim? After all, they perform a service, a much-needed and asked-for service if I may add... so does Islam shut them out, just coz of their job? Kinda ridiculous, if u think about it....

Prostitutes are human and I don't know if they can be Muslims or not...It's between them and Allah..who am I to judge? But I wouldn't prefer doing that kinda job!
ps.
atleast I'm not discussing religion here so do not count me!
woohoo!!! i got in the class! 714’s gonna learn how to belly dance!
BOYS! cover ur eyes!
waise, i LOVE to dance. I do it for myself. Not saying im especially good, but its so fun and its good exercise (esp. a good bhangra).
as for the whole religious aspect, as long as i am not dancing in front of guys, i don’t really see a problem.
as for husbands, if he wants me to dance for him, he’ll have to do something in return i don’t think its anything whorish or slutty-its kinda silly to think that. What goes on between husband and wife is their business and (for the most part) permissable. If you don’t feel comfortable dancing in front of your husband (or wife), that’s ur business and your preference. And that’s totally cool. But someone who does feel comfortable? Thats their business and their preferance and that’s cool too.
I wish people wouldn’t mix up culture and religion.

Thanks for explaining but really I didn't ask anyone here to give me an opinion about my opinion...:)
BTW, I'm curious and wanna ask this question to whoever is saying belly dancing is perimissible in Islam: Did you guys miss the quranic verses and the hadiths that talk about modesty in Islam by any chance?
(I don't wanna bring Islam in the corner room but I asked this question because I guess ppl shouldn't talk abt something they don't really know especially when they're talking about a religion...you can't make things up you know! )
woah-CA, please, i like you and many of the things you say, and i don’t want animosity between us. If i offended you, i apologize it was not my intention. I know this is not the religious section. As for knowing my religion, i think i know it decently well, please don’t make assumptions. When i made that comment i wasn’t talking about you. I was talking about people in general. As for giving an opinion on yours, its called a response. You talk about modesty in Quran and Hadith. Yes there are ayyahs and hadiths that talk about it-BUT its front of others and its about the way you dress and act and are. We’re talking here about between a husband and wife. If you don’t want to do that with your husband, that’s totally cool. Its something you are not comfortable. But i don’t think its wrong for the people that do it. I don’t think they are being slutty. There is so much else done with a spouse that requires a lot less modesty.
