.. First time I met him was at someones home.. when introduced he said he was an artist and teaches art.. I took his card and went to see him at his studio as I am always interested in anything relating to art.. he a fine gentleman with a beard.. his rise from that place which everyone hates and not dislodging his links is a bit strange for our culture.. we always try to hide our limitations..
Traditionally Hira Mandi was a place where prostitution and dancing went along for long time. When prostitution was banned only dancing was permitted and is to date. Though prostitution can be happening in close doors but prostitutes have spread all over the city. The people who come to watch dances are polititions, criminals and curious minds.. I was lucky or unlucky once to see the place in depth as one of my friends knew of a ploice officer incharge of that area and invited for a tour! thank God these things are hidden and our society dont accept it..

However, if this military regime has the might to get away with washing extremists, than they can also wash this filth of the great city of Lahore, as I dont believe Heera Mundi is a cultural heritage of Lahore. Afterall, we are living in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan...
