I dont know about NFL.. but NBA sure is guilty to some extent.. the popularity of basketball has sure taken the charm out of west indian islands...
What Umair is saying has some truth in it. The sheer amount of money within NBA and NFL have attracted young guys from west Indies towards these sports rather than cricket, which is a poor cousin in comparison.

Couple years back on cnn sports, they showed a biography about sammy sosa, where he said he grew up playing cricket along with baseball. he said that cricket has alot to do with his success in baseball.
