Daily doings in mamaland

So my 2 older boyz had their elementary school’s “scare fair” this past sunday. Its the biggest fundraiser for the school and all parents were almost required to volunteer for an hour to staff the games and rides. We went and had fun, I put in 2 shifts manning one of the games. Gave a prize to one and all lol!

ANYWAY, there was a “silent auction” at the fair, where you sign your name and your price to any prize you’d like. I signed up for “4 front row seats to the play Sound of Music” for $110. What a DEAL I thought!!! I was so excited, called my mom and everything. Well, I found out that this was NOT a broadway show I bid on, it was the ELEMENTARY SCHOOL play!!! And MY kids arent in it!!! (It has kids 2nd grade and up). Thank GOODnessgraciousme…someone else bid higher!!!

THEN…I decided I want to take the boyz to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Called to order the tix, they’re now horribly expensive (70 each) THEN ticketmaster tells me that theres a 10 dollar service charge PER TICKET. SHEESSH man!! Almost a thousand bux to take boys, hubby and mom to see the holiday show :frowning: I decided that we’ll take a drive into the city this weekend and try the box office directly, will save us almost 100.

Methinks I’ll buy a lotto ticket today. I got a dollar and I DEFINITELY have a dream. Better start looking for a job too tho.

Re: Daily doings in mamaland

There are so many things we want to do and each costs $$$

Life is expensive

Re: Daily doings in mamaland

Yes it is.

Re: Daily doings in mamaland

Mama how about taking the boys to the Big Apple Circus...I think its in town again..not quite sure of dates though.

Re: Daily doings in mamaland

hahha so cute about the Sound of Music.
heheheh I would have done the same thing.

Re: Daily doings in mamaland

rotfl, I can JUST imagine explaining to the hubby that we won the tickets for 110 dollars and then taking him with the littles to the big show!!! All 2nd thru 5th graders at the local skool....broadway NOT!!! sheet!!! That was a CLOSE one!

A-S, I was thinking about that, about taking them to that circus but it wouldnt be the same for me. My dad and mom took me and my 2 siblings to the radio city show when we were about the age of my sons and its been a glittering, joyful memory for me. I'd like to give that to my boyz. The show is just beyond imagining, it can make even the adults beleive in Santa and magic. And it goes far beyond anything else I've ever seen in promoting the "Spirit of giving". Worth the extra expense but I guess its also worth looking into any possible discounts lol!
