Yes, lunch packet service is famous in the business markets of karachi.

I know its still quite popular in India but no more in Pakistan (at least not in Karachi). These guys are just amazing. I think its probably one of the most efficient delivery service of any kind that is in assistance in sub-continent, and its all manual labor, nothing high tech.
anybody has personal experience of this service?
My sister lives in Mumbai. Every morning before she leaves for work, she makes roti and salan and sabzi for lunch. Then her maid comes in around 11ish. Packs a tiffin for my nephew, and soon the Dabba Wala comes in and collects it. He takes a bunch of similar tiffins to his school and is NEVER late. For the last 2 years since they've had this service, the lunches have never been mixed up with another kids. When lunchtime is over, he collects all the boxes and returns them to the appropriate home.
How cool is that. I wish we had a similar service here for schools and offices.

In the old days the dubba walay used to deliver in cycles each cycle would havexabout 50 dubbas! If I recall they wolud cycle to the suburban railway station and deliver to dadar or wherever ebd destination.
People complain India ( or Pak) don't win gold at Olympics. Folks in the west are sponsored and can spend hours training. The dubba walay probate ly can hold their own with proper gear. Ditto the cycle rickshaw walay. And how about the hand pulled rickshaw walays? And coolies for weightlifting ( pound for pound they can kick ...).
