I think Faisal comes in 2nd ep. The play is entrenched in reality. It's not depressing but it definitely doesnt have any glamour or masala in it. I think it's one of the few serials focusing on friendship and also a real insight into the different classes that exist in Pakistan. I really do think it's one of Umera's really good serials..but fingers crossed..let's see how it does.

in every pakistani school-college-uni you will see one classic debater. that is why you will also get to see pakistan's name in world debating championship every year....i think this year they were fifth position.
anyways, umera did highlighted that...but the actress (i think her name is saman bloch) failed to present mesmerizing speech, (even though the points she mentioned were strong...but they were poorly executed) or shall I say mehreen you failed to show that.
other than that...quite realistic drama...the bayrozgar fathers character, or the mamoo's character or the perverts in offices and how miserable they make working women's life, or how uninformed our upper class about the problems of middle class....or at least they act naive.

^^ I don't think the speech was the main focus of the episode. It served as a backdrop as the characters were introduced and also did a bit of foreshadowing of what is going to happen. Here we have a very "khud-daar ladki" who thinks you can achieve anything if you work hard and put your heart and soul into it and I am afraid she's going to find out otherwise.

^^ I hope so too. I hope it makes a positive statement about hard working people and that society doesn't always dump or disown them.
Seems like Mehreen Jabbar is working 24/7/364 on her tele serials, the rate at which she is turning them out and the quality which she's able to maintain.
I watched a few clips of this serial and its def better than Vasl. Pretty good. Looking forward to watching the rest :k

Sanam's character is such a Sweetheart!! She's like the ray of hope and light for her family. I hope they don't turn her character into some sad story.
the youngest daughter doesn't seem so young to me but they are having her act like a 10-11 year old.
Also watched Yaariyan's first episode. Seems like a fun play starring Faisal/Aijaz/Samia :-)

The youngest daughter has the mental capacity of a 10 year old and that is what will become clear as the play proceeds. That is why in the first episode, both her parents call her 'pagal' which is obviously their interpretation of it.
A lot of references to it being 'depressing'..yaar moka to do :) I really think it's a very real depiction of many things and if you know my style there aren't going to be many crying and howling scenes :)

ah! I thought that for a second when I was watching her talking to her mitthu but she was acting normal otherwise so I hadn't taken my thought further.
Mehreen app ko definitely mauqa dai rahay hain :) If you go to friendskorner and check out how many hits Daam's thread has gotten it is over 2,000 compared to others who might only have a mere 300.
Knowing Umera's previous stories, I am hoping she doesn't end this one on a sad note.

ok I watched the first two episodes yesterday and I think this is wayyy better than vasl for sure. I am hooked on this drama...the story looks very realistic and I think the audience can easily relate to the characters in daam. I am looking forward to the next episode. knowing umera ahmed I am just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping this wouldn't end on a sad depressing note and sanam baloch's character would actually come out as the strong hardworking woman as it starts off that way aswell.

i saw the first episode. i agree with others that it does seems a bit depressing, but mehreen jabbar has never disappointed me so i will definitely continue watching it.

just finished watching it....and i feel extremely bad for seemi...seriously the saddest part is that such characters do exist in real lives
life is so very hard for some people.....
