So I added too much haldi to my daal.. instead of a nice orangish yellow, its a brownish yellow which I dont care about but you can taste the haldi! Can I undo this somehow? I do not want to throw the whole thing away. Also family is expecting lunch soon. What do I do? Should I increase all other spices too so they can’t taste the haldi?

Yes , you can take out 1/4th of it and mix more daal and mild spices. You can use the rest of it later same way at 4 different occasions.
Re: Daal EMERGENCY 911
add some milk and water to it n let it cook

add more water and let is simmer for half hour.
Bhagarofy with onion , garlic , heeng , zeera , ground chilli/peprica , use desi ghee or butter instead of oil.
That milk trick as mentioned above by someone might work too.
