lol...ALL daals go with chaawal...depends on your preference...but i would say arhar kii daal is the most popular! :)

dekhi hogi but i dont make daal often and when i do i add kaddu, shalgam or gosht into the channa daal and make it so it can be eaten with roti.

masoor (its red when dry, yellow when cooked) + moong (yellow when dry, brownish when cooked), ratio is 3:1 (more masoor than moong)

either whole ro split moong by itself with a tarka of garlic is yummy!

Only few people know about Arhur daal in Pakistan. Its only in Sindh.

Three daals - moong, masoor (including whole masoor) and aruhur go very good with chawal.

Chana and mash (urid) do not go very good with rice of their own - they are when eaten with rice cooked along with meat.

yup orange daal is the best one .. I usually make khati daal to go with plain steamed rice and it always comes out yummy ...
