Just a question, do Dermoid cysts effect fertility? From what I understand they don’t remove a dermoid until its a few cms big, does anyone know if that’s correct? And at times doctors will just leave it, to see what happens. Eventually though it has to be removed through surgery. Has anyone had the surgery for an ovarian dermoid cyst , is it complicated?

These types of cysts are almost always benign and nothing to worry about. They will be removed by laparoscopic surgery which is minimally evasive.
The removal of a dermoid cyst usually will not hinder fertility, but it's best to ask your doctor he/she will know better.

I had ovarian cysts. I don't know dermoid or not, but these were begin and did not affect my fertility. I had them before I got married and have kids MA!

Yes, i had surgery. I had it done in Pakistan. It was major surgery at that time but I was fine after about a month. Went back to college and all.
