CW Network Commits to New Sitcom Featuring Muslim Character

In a dramatic move to call attention to the new network and to elevate the CW’s commitment to diversity to a new level, Ostroff has reached agreement to air a new sitcom from NBC Universal and producers David Guarascio and Moses Port that features a Muslim exchange student from Pakistan who comes to a small town in Wisconsin. Aliens in America features a 17 year-old high school geek and his beautiful sister whose family takes in a foreign exchange student, believing they will be accepting a British student who will add a “cool” factor to their family. Instead a Muslim steps off the plane. “It’s hilarious,” comments Ostroff, “and it carries a strong message about tolerance and understanding our differences. We are excited to bring an environment that’s original, fresh and unique to the ad community.”

I don’t think we get CW on regular cable wonder how many people this channel is reaching

I guess they feel together they will strengthen by offering best of each to compete with other major networks.
