  • Spend a day making a time capsule. You can write a letter containing your thoughts, dreams and hopes for your new life together. Put the letter in a box and seal it. You can then open the box on a set date, maybe your** 25th wedding anniversary**. :)

Ask hubby to so the same afterwards and add it to the box.

lol when you gals apply this idea, 1st make sure YOU DO THAT ON FIRST NITE 2nd do not tell him about your intentions before marrying him. coz i told a guy, who was interested in me for marriage, ullu ka patha, buzdil, ran away like anything :frowning: he thot i was the beating up type :crying:

I luv the ideas....... here are some of mine:

1) Try to incorporate something you wore on your wedding day on every wedding anniversary that follows ... even if you are simply having dinner at home with your hubby and not doing anything special. Rock the entire lehngha or rock the jewelry ... or the shoes... something! :D

2) If you and your hubby have a "first dance" - make sure you choose that song together... and make that YOURS ... for the rest of your life, whenever you both hear that song, it will take you back to your wedding and those moments of the "first dance".

3) Have a special "guestbook" just for your family members.... and before the actual day of the wedding, ask them to write something sentimental in it... ask them to give you marriage advice...etc. After the wedding has taken place, then open it up and read it. You will have your luved ones heartfelt words to keep for the rest of your life.

4) Include your wedding invitation in your wedding photo album ....

5) Buy beautiful cake cutter/server for your wedding and then save it to be used in your future life for whenever you have to cut cake.

6) Write wedding "vows" like how goray people do..... and say them to each other either in front of your guests at your reception or if you are more shy or private person..... say them to each other on your wedding night.

7) Write a "thank you from the dulhan" note where you express how much you appreciate what your friends and family have done for you, as well as appreciating the presence of the guests at attending and witnessing this important day in your life. This note can be framed and put at each table or individually at each place setting.

8) Rather than giving away wedding favors, donate the money you are planning to use for that towards a charity or cause that is important to you. Have guest cards at each place setting that explain what you are doing.

i got this idea from a friend of mine.
She started keeping a seperate diary, after her baat paaki, and since her hubby would call her each day she wrote some of the most keepsake part of the conversations. Like the first time he called her after the baat paki, then one conversation he told her he likes to make biryani,etc. leading all the way up to the wedding day. some entries included her thoughts and feelings about shopping for zaywer etc. she gave that diary to her hubby on their wedding night, and she said that he read the entire thing that night!

OMG That is so cute!!! I wish I had done that but I was just so up in the clouds after teh rishta was set! I didn't talk alot around him and I know my way of thinking is sooooo much wierdier than the girls of pakistan so he would have appreciated that. The only thing I hate though is that I can't read or write urdu......

*Another idea ladies!!! If you have a bouquet, get the bouqeut preserved and leave it in your room or hanging on the wall or something! And if you have flowers at your wedding press the flowers and put them in your photo album! *

I luv the bouquet idea! I actually dried the gajaray that my inlaws gave me on my engagement and they are now hanging in my bedroom :D

I also am in luv with the diary idea! ...... its been a couple of months since my engaement tho :(

Isn't that what the personalized thank you cards that you send out after the wedding are for?

That's really tacky. Giving money to charity is great, but it should be a personal thing. Announcing it to your guests is in poor taste.
