I was writing a PM to a friend. Part of which was defining the city I live in. I thought to post it for your information as well 
Regarding Hyderabad, it is a city with magnificent past and ignominous present. Its ruins which i think is the fitting term to define what it actually is at the moment stand testimony to its former glory. Now it stands fallen partly because Karachi is just 140 kms away and the development in that port city would never allow Hyderabad to prosper. However, it is surrounded by rural areas one can enjoy. We have mango orchards all around there and dying river Indus that virtually ends there instead of going down to the sea! Aah that is my Hyderabad.
